Geez, I try and say somewhere isn't too bad and it turns into back into an insult at Kilburn. Para Hills is a shithole. Don't bag Kilburn, go do some work and earn some money for your club.

Why not try and make a point rather than talking crap mate. I was making more sense than you last night and I was shitfaced.

Here are my two points:

1. Eastern Park's facilities aren't that bad. Woody South and PAOC have been in divs 1 and 2 with worse facilities. Para Hills' visitors rooms aren't any better. There are many other clubs with poor rooms. Holding EP down because of their facilities is hiding the real reason for people trying to stop them progressing.

2. Kilburn's financial position hasn't been handed to them on a plate. The club has almost folded in the past resulting in people doorknocking every business along Main North, Prospect and Churchill roads to keep the place open. From then there has been an incredible amount of work done by many people to secure revenue and sponsors. As far as council funding goes, we are not the only club wo uses the hall at Kilburn. Neither are we the only people who use the gym. However one of our members volunteers to run the gym and supervise and help run programs for the other people that use it. If I remember correctly the grant for the gym was from the federal government and I'm not sure what contacts we have there. Maybe if you tried to do something for the wider community your club could secure some funding too. Driving to Para Hills I saw the massive building next to the oval and thought wow, this looks good. Then I realised it wasn't the football club's building. Somebody down there obviously got some money. Don't blame another club for intelligent forward planning, hard work and generous sponsors.

Ok I am back....

Massive hangover and still pretty sore.

Have read all the comments and wont bother addressing them, people have there own opinions.

Flinders Park were awesome, in particular the following. Paul Smith smashed us. Too big and strong and apparently is still very young (scary thought). Keiran Johnson was amazing as well and did some serious damage, particularly early.

Pesch was excellent around the stoppages and Kluey was strong up forward. At the end of the day they were great. At our best i am not sure we would have beaten them on saturday. Full credit to them.

judging by the phonecalls I got on Saturday night it sounds like they did.
Harsh but fair.....

Shrek,

Here's my points,

1, Don't have a go at me about writing crap on here, when 90% of what you write is exactly that, CRAP!

2, Para Hills' visitor change rooms are far better than Woody Sth, Eastern Park and probably a few others. At least when you come to Para Hills 20 blokes don't have to share 10 second hand school chairs to get changed like you do at E.P.

3, Don't bag clubs about funding when really, you've got no idea what happens at our club. When Kilburn went doorknocking down Prospect, Churchill and Main North Roads, how many of those business' already sponsored a local club? Not many i bet! The problem we have, along with Ingle Farm, Pooraka, Brahma Lodge and Salisbury, Salisbury West, Paralowie to a lesser extent, is that we are all close and fighting for the same sponsors!

Thanks for your time.

I wasn't having a go at your club, just you. Don't whinge about having no money, go do something. How many grants have you applied for? Anyway, this wasn't an argument about funding, it was about whether EP should be kept down because of their rooms. Maybe EP don't have the funding Para Hills do to build a slightly better shitbox? PH away rooms are pretty bad. 20 bloke don't have to share chairs because you can't fit 20 bloke in there. Don't throw stones.

dont have any real problems with para hills when we played them years ago, change room was a bit small but thats life..i didnt like the oval, slopes to one side, unless 500 tons of dirt have been brought in to level it..

That's the point though zedman, it's a little bit shit but you put up with it. Same as EP. People just make a big deal about EP's rooms because they are scared going there.

anyone who has played on the eastern wing at Kilburn will attest to the fairness and unbiased comments from the 'mound men' , always complimentary and casting no doubt about your parentage :)

Well they are without a doubt the biggest bunch of ferals I have seen in the amateur league. Are there any other contenders?

Maybe the Payneham lads who spit off the balcony?

EP is an intimidating place, especially for young players. They are very hard to beat at home for this very reason. Its a great home-ground advantage for them.

In all honesty though, how many actual incidents have happened out there ? Bugger all, i would say. I havent played there for a few years, but never had any issues after games at all when i did. Sure, during the games their spectators aren't exactly friendly, but whos are ?
