Sam Juniper was a PHOS junior I don't think Jack ever played there.

In my opinion Michael Gower of Seaton is the best player in the div 2 comp and i would have thought would be a walk up start in any div 1 club. Ha anyone got thoughts on this or a suggestion as to who would be better? If he doesnt win the div 2 medal i will be surprised, seriously a classy small player that is only small in statue but huge on heart! I know it is only going into round 2 but he got best on the weekend and it will be first of many for this young man!!!!

Think Modbury will struggle, heard rumours that they were looking at top 3 behind Seaton and Pt Districts. Need more than recruting the two Mitchell Brothers from Div 1, youngest brother isn't even proven footy player.

Agreed Coardy and Gowers would be in the top few in Div 2. They may take votes off each other in the medal though. Marshall and Petruno will also get votes from the Seaton side.
Steedy at Districts will also go close to winning the medal in Div 2, if he remains in contention, by not getting suspended.

from wat ive seen they rely on too few players week in/week out(jolly, scudds etc) and when these guys dont play well they lose.

Gowers and Coard are two different types of players. Gowers is unbelievable at doing the hard things that sometimes umpires dont notice. Hence he won Seatons B&F last year but hardly polled at the medal count. Truly he is an inspirational player. Coard is more a flashy player that runs hard and break lines. Noticed more by the umpires especially with those long locks. Other contenders that havent been mentioned could be Burrows from PNU, proven vote getter and Jolly from Modbury,

Newman you are right Burrows always get notice from the umpires and Jolly gets alot of the ball. Modbury go through him with all there forward thrusts.
How do you think Christofis and Puecker will poll at Port Districts?

Peuker is a good player and with coaching duties off his mind I'd expect him to have a big year. Christofis on his day is a dominating player, however his attitude gets in the way sometimes. I would expect him to have a good year also. Steed is their main vote getter though.

Peucker kicked 8 on the weekend against an average Kilburn. Is he capable of kicking 100?

Is it true that there is an Anzac Day clash between Districts and Seaton?

He wont get a 100 but he might kick 50. Anzac Day Clash Districts vs Ramblers at Districts from all reports they are expecting 2000 people there.

Put him off his game? Does he have a daughter to taunt him about?

He played in middle for Seaton quite a bit last year and had to try and coach the side at the same time. I think he plays out of the goal square and gets enough opportunities he may kick 100.

Newman i was told the other day that Scotty is real impressed with some ex Portland boys at Seaton, in particular Sajatovic. Have you heard how Justin is going at Seaton?

Gale: Fantastic player, not the most skilful out there but provides plenty of run off half back. Fatherhood has interupted his pre season but once he is fit will push an A grade spot. Only player I have seen stitch Burrows up in consecutive games.

Patruno: Is set for a big year. Is injury prone but his hands are as good as Ive seen them for a long time. Has been a good player for a long time.

Marshall: In the twighlight of his career still gets a kick and kicks a goal now and again. Is the oldest in the team.

Hodges: Great player was one of the best I have ever seen. Great coach is very demanding of his players. Great game plan and is very big on the little things that win a game of footy. Attention to detail is fantastic.

Hosie: Dont know much of him, his assessment of some players is way off the mark. Seems to know opposition teams farely well.

With your knowledge of the above individuals I would like your thoughts ROH.

Newman, how do u see the Anzac clash between Pt District and Seaton with only the 4 day break between games, and the players that have left Seaton to go to districts. Do you see it being a spiteful game where those players will be targeted? If so who would you target from districts? Who would you target from Seaton?

What will the end result be??

Newman,

My thoughts would be

GALE - very rarely loses a one on one contest. Very good defensively. Not the highest skilled player but works hard.

PATRUNO - One of the best pack mark players going around. When fully fit and on song, a real match winner

MARSHALL - Very good at one grabbing the ball off the ground, wins alot of the ball. Definately in the twighlight of his career, must be 35 by now, still fairly fit though.

HODGES - One of the greatest players ever. Thought he should have been given the Port magpies reserves job

HOSEY - Havent heard too many nice things about Luke, he is very opinionated. Very good at researching other players.

Forgive me for my late intrusion gentlemen.

Does the ANZAC Blockbuster kick off at normal time? Im tipping the game will come down to the wire but what an atmosphere it will bring for the players if its capacity crowd.

Marshall is a gun, personally I think every team needs to secure a man of his age, ilk and experience to steady a mid-field and provide examples of hard ball gets etc.

Gale couldnt kick over a jam tin but heart and defensive skills are abundantly good!

Hodges, when he shoots at goal with his head on crooked I get tingles!

Seaton by 5pts.
Anyone else got a tip???
