Im pretty sure you think your the best player in Div 3 piccachu. How have all the boys taken to Pearcey? He's a great coach and I think he will do good things out at Portland. Has S. Hinsley graced the training track yet ?

i dont think i am steve i know i am, was just trying to be modest :D
on a serious note Pearcy has been great for us a new face was required to get the most out of the lads and he has made pre season very interesting and worth while to date, unfortuantly Shaun has not blessed us with his presence yet but according to him its due to his new employment which is afternoon shift, that would be right up Shauns alley ;)

There is certainly a positive feel but that is to be expected. Some good recruiting combined with not losing any players of note and coming down a division has certainly changed the atmosphere. I think the boys are looking forward to some Western Suburbs rivalry aswell. Has been a while since FP, Portland, Seaton and SMOSH have been in the same comp. Talking to a lot of the SMOSH boys at the recent fundraiser between the two clubs, there certainly is a buzz about the rivalry this year.

As for the comments about the SMC 1st XVIII, i think it basically comes down to where you play your Junior footy. I don't think its the SMC coaches role to promote SMOSH as an option after year 12, thats probably the responsibility of the SMOSH footy club. I know there was certainly no contact made with most of the SMC boys at Flinders after they finished their schooling, and you can't really blame players for going back to their junior clubs.

I agree that a lot of it has to do with where you play your junior footy. there was definately contact made with SMC boys at Flinders, but credit to them, a lot fo them had lready committed to FPFC, and were pretty upfront with it.

I Do think that as an employee of the college, the First XVIII coach shoudl be actively promtoing the old schollars side, jsut as the Principal and Co-Curiccular coordinator do. Obviously the coach is a proud FPFC man, nothing wrong with that, but it obviously means hes not going to actibvely promote SMOSH for finsihign year twelves. We now have two Seniors players, and an ex SMOSH junior coaching year 9's and 10's at SMC, so hopefulyl that will help in the logn run.

Ha, maybe the premiership talk was just ramsgate banter then reds :D

Yeah definately mate, good point. It is difficult for you boys to retain some of these guys, and the fact the 1sts coach is a FPFC man probably complicates things a little bit. I know when i finished up at SMC there was definately no contact made though. Probably due to a lack of talent more than anything else. And that is definately a good thing to have SMOSH boys helping out. I actually think an old scholar and senior player at FPFC coaches a side at SMC aswell, so thats interesting aswell

As for flag talk at the gate, your probably right on the money mate. Some ordinary FP boys do frequent that establishment. :)

Did minners get the call up to the afl did he????
So if it's true that'd be 3clubs in 3 years he's coached at.
Would be disappointing if he did as only last month he was drinking with all the boys at the morphettville Vic derby day.

You call yourself a Seaton man through and through but i think that is a load of bulldust. If you were you would stick around and help the young lads which are the future of the club. The blokes that have left were cancerous and you didnt have the balls to do anything about them throughout the year. Then you leave cause you are embarrassed that after being relegated we couldnt make the finals when we were touted as prem favs. We dont need people like you commenting and or being around the club. We have been a powerhouse before and we will be again just as soon as we rid ourselves of leeches like yourself

Gee if you blokes ran the club, the club would run at a huge loss, ( unpaid cartons of beer, unpaid subs, damage to club while on the p!ss ) were a few things you & your mates achievments in 2010, expecting everything for nothing is one thing, paying your way is another.( the club would be closed down in 4 years )
Times are tough yes, atleast i can say i supported the club in every way, my wife included, don't know where the club would be if it wasn't for us, how about no.1- the club has a couple of great sponsors tied up for 3 years, no.2- all the social events, incl Miss Seaton Rams, yes the one you have tried to take all the wraps for  no.3- all the grog bought, picked up & delivered to the club, i can keep going if you like. no.4- Don't forget the coaching of 2 grades, alot of work involved at Seaton aint their "InTheChair"?
As far as cancerous players & sooks are concerned, they were told where they sit, they reacted just like you, didn't take "honest criticism to well"
Some went down to B grade, while some left to other clubs & put their tails between their legs.
I completed my committments for 2010 & can honestly say you & a few others were the biggest sooks i've ever been associated with in football, i'm over the backstabbing, underminding & whinging you all created & can leave knowing i put a hell of alot of time in to the club, the club was rewarded $$$ but was let down severely on the field once again by players like you who always look for someone else to blame for for their falures.

Yep he is gone mate. There has already been extensive talks in regards to looking for a new coach. At the moment, the most likely scenario is Tom Nicholls being a player/coach for the 2011 season. Either that or the President is looking at stepping down from his position and taking up the A grade spot. Tom Nicholls has prepared an extensive PowerPoint presentation for his interview tomorrow (in which he is the only person being interviewed), so providing that all goes well he will be taking Minners spot for 2011

His name was thrown around a bit. But they are definitely leaning towards the fresh faced Tom Nicholls to lead the club in 2011. He has been an active committee member, accomplished footballer and has played a mjajor role in the decision of all coaches across the grade levels in recent years. I think this movement towards fresh blood will put SMOSH on the right path for 2011

Couple:
- Few things still making it very difficult to get St Micks first 18 players to SMOSH - doesn't help that the First 18 coach is a FPFC man.. buts if he's successful at the College good on him, just disappointing to miss out on some good kids from our POV. It's not a case of promoting flinders park, so much as NOT promoting SMOSH - which is the right thign to do IMO. They are definately opening the chequebook though, and a few existing players are talking premierships in november!
- Big wraps on Portland round the traps. Prior a massive pick up. Watched the div 6 GF, and I think Vessali will be ebtter then jsut a back up for perkins. V good player. As much as a i lvoe beating them, i admire Portland as a footy club - they work hard to get results (well at least in teh alst 3-4 years) and keep good people.
- 60 players at GG training in november? Inflationary tactics?- Gonna stick my neck out and call para Hills as the team to beat. When they're on, they're a bloody good side, jsut a matter of how they play away from the paddocks/keeping their discipline on the field.
- wondering who is fronting up for Seaton this year. All the blokes I knew out there have left? Hopefully some of the young blokes in their b grade premiership will make the step up. Never good tos ee an exodus liek that from a proud club.

AS for SMOSH, numbers improving in week 3 of pre season. Contrary to ealier Posts, Fraser/Tomeo did not go for assistant coaching roles - Mick will continue the fantastic job he did as B grade coach last year, and hopefuilly we'll see a lot of the younger lads that he promoted through the season step up and play A grade. Frase is running s a lto of the pre-season fitness stuff along with another fitness machine and working us rpetty hard. Gigs has been fantastic so far - bring a lot of familiarity to the 7 or 8 u/18's who are stepping up to senior footy this year which can only be a good thing.

Minners will no doubt have a plan to tag D leonard when we play Portland. No leonard, no Portland they're saying!

Why is that inflationary turbo?? We probably had more than that last year. Remember we have 5 senior teams so considering that it's not really what i would call great numbers... But obviously you know what you’re on about…

Sounds like Tomeo is the main contender to take over the head coaching job down at Smosh after Minnervini is no longer doing it as of last night, Tomeo will be taking training tonight down there and we will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

Ah, didn't realise you had 5 teams... Still ridiculously good for this time of year.

Always read stuff on here about "we had 2378512127817893 blokes at pre season training" etc. Some bloke from hope valley (div 6 i think?) said they had 75 plus out there. I doubt anyone would have that many, bar Adelaide Uni.

Obviously won't make any comments on the SMOSH situation ATM.

Yeah yeah Schimma.... good one, haven't heard that one. ;)

We get good numbers pretty much every year at pre-season training due to our number of teams but I guess like most teams the difficult part is getting the right people out. We get alot of under 18's keen to impress and alot of B/C/D graders but do need to get a few more of our A graders and fringe guys out. Like alot of clubs guys are heavily involved in other sports still at this time of the year...
