Henley - Lose a couple, gain a couple. New coach, whats he got in store?? Still the benchmark. 1 - 3
SHOC - Seem to have kept the core of good players, can they back it up, did they over achieve? 2 -4
Sals Nth - Appear to be in trouble, check book would be open, my pick to drop out of the 5. 6 - 9
Goodwood - Had the year they had to have, a few retirements, will still be a force. 2 - 4
Broadview - Picked up more than lost, will have to back up last years performance and more. 4 - 5
Gaza - Seem to have recruited heavily, must win the easier games, finals question mark. 3 - 5
TTG - Will struggle if relying on Pitt again, seem to have lost players to GG. 6-8
Gepps - Max exudus, can Ando bring something to the table, i think not, relegation danger. 7 - 10
EP - Core players training at league clubs, could struggle without them, have to get better defence & discipline in Div 1. 7 -10
Phos - Finally in Div 1 again, always hard to beat down there, even team, will need a couple stars. 6 - 9

pretty good sum up i think. which guys have broadies lost this year apart from the coach?

Sam Haniford gone to North, not sure if Wints will put the boots on as yet, not real sure of any others that have moved on

Surprised the Gully boys haven't kept you all up to date about their change of coach?? Only happened this week apparently, good replacement though, should be no issues there.

Oh yeah, but would he really know?

I have it on good authority from a couple of players that have moved to willaston from gepps x that there may be up to 20 players leaving the club .

At least 5 Gepps boys heading to United in the Adelaide Plains, including Dave Kellett. They're in all sorts of trouble. Has Greg Anderson ever had success as a coach?

He's been around the traps for a while and you never seem to hear too much glowing praise of him for whatever reason. To think he is a former SANFL coach.

There is a rule that if a club wants to stay up they can come to an agreement which would mean Districts or Payneham. Wouldn't have thought EP would go that track good source Carey or pub talk?

mmm he'd be in the know so i guess he would be fairly reliable source. to add to that i have a few mates at EP and there is defainly concern about there playing list but i have not heard anything about asking to stay in div2.

although IMO i believe it would be a good choice by EP to do this as yes playing div1 would be a fantastic achievement for the lads and the club but is it worth getting your pants pulled down everyweek? it may send the club backwards

what are peoples thoughts on the difference between div1 and 2? for mine its a fair gap between the top clubs in div 1 to the top sides in div2 but hey thats just my opinion.

You can probably get an idea from the sides that went up last year. Broadies recruited pretty well only lost a couple of players and played finals. PNU didn't recruit many and started the season with injury problems and got off to a bad start and struggled from then on.

You need to keep what you have and gain a few to be competitive which will make it difficult for any clubs coming up under the points system.

I think you'll find Scott will be playing the first half of the season, and hornhardt is training away with work, but will be playing for Broadview this year.

I guess the issue is, if they know they may be in trouble, it may be wiser to stay down. Look at Kilburn coming up to Div 2, then shooting back down 3 div's. Or Seaton, Woodville South etc. I can have a huge effect down the track if your team cops a pasting every week and drops a Division. Plus, with some of the history of EP, getting belted every week may infact cause the other team to also cop a belting, if you get my drift.

Not sure you'll be overly popular at EP with a comment like this.[/quote]

Having played them last year after not playing them for a few years, EP certainly have cleaned their act up on the field. Cant do much for supporters and the oval though ;)
