I remember playing against that side as a young kid Jimmy. We kicked 11 goals to zip in the last quarter to beat you guys at our ground, then you rolled us in the Elimination Final, and won the GF from fourth. Good team then with Threadgold, Geddes, Trim and co.Jimmy_041 wrote:There's another error - we won an A3 flag in 2004 as well - Not difficult to research on http://www.paocfc.com

Damien Herzick was the coach then, Robo might've been there in the crowd.Jimmy_041 wrote:Pag wrote:I remember playing against that side as a young kid Jimmy. SW did it to us this year as well.
I remember that final at PNU – Robo was your coach – we won it in the 1st quarter – 10 goals IIRC?

I think the 10 goal to zip was the week after against Eastern Park. I remember some of the older boys saying after the Elimination Final that you guys were gonna win the whole thing, I played the curtain-raiser in the Bs the week after (at PNU again), came out and you guys were 11 goal to nil up on Eastern Park and won by 17 goals or something in the end.

As expected, Damien Herzick’s Salisbury Magpies lost the Elimination Final at Payneham Oval to Bruce Lennon’s PAOC Reds 9.10 to 13.11, while in the Qualifier at Salisbury, Dave Whelan’s SHOC beat Paul Dorian’s Eastern Park Demons 13.10 to 8.7. The Demons then travelled to Payneham in the First Semi only to be 11 goals down without reply in the first quarter and a final siren loss of 9.10 to the Reds’ 31.11. The Second Semi at West Lakes was closer, but Dave Sorby’s SMOSH Lions still had a comfortable win 10.12 to 7.10. The Prelim. Final at Norwood Oval was an Old Scholars derby, and after an even first half the Reds pulled away to defeat the Hearts 25.13 to 14.10. Alberton Oval was the venue for the Grand Final where the Reds continued their brilliant finals form by running out easy victors 13.7 to the Lions’ 6.6.

Actually, now that you mention it, I think that was the year Robo was at EP. He was with us a couple of years before that. We only lost the Elim Final by four goals, then you smahed EP, SHOC and SMOSH (I think were the other three), so we didn't go too badly.Jimmy_041 wrote:Pag wrote:Damien Herzick was the coach then, Robo might've been there in the crowd.Jimmy_041 wrote:Pag wrote:I remember playing against that side as a young kid Jimmy. Maybe Robo was the coach at EP amd I was thinking of that game? IIRC, we were a bit like this year - up & down all year then put it together in the finals
Believe it or not, Trimmy played in the Bs premiership this year as well. He's just racking them up to show off to his kids later on.............

Jimmy_041, Jimmy_041,Jimmy_041 give it a rest. There seems to be some misguided perception there's a room full of spell checkers acting as editors for this publication. The other thing has more people having input than the "official" one. It's just a web-site, if you don't like don't open the link and stick to the left wing publication for entertainment.Jimmy_041 wrote:There's another error - we won an A3 flag in 2004 as well - Not difficult to research on http://www.paocfc.com

It's official. Paul Barber is a LEGEND!
Not only has he promoted his club twice in consecutive seasons but now they're that good they've skipped div 4 and 3 altogether and I'm proud to announce that WOS have been in div 2 for the past 3 years!![]()
