Two horse race with the top two i recon.

If you recon this is a 2 horse race youngfella I have taught you nothing!

Don't you remember a side that came from 5th one year?

And how many favourites and front runners are run down in the straight?

We're sitting nicely on the fence with 1500 to go and the two or three short priced favourites are all over us at the moment....think about it TeeBee. Theres a long way to go!

i get what your saying there mate but could you really see anyone but west croydon, trinity or lockleys winning it?

I cant IMO maybe CLG if they get full strength and there sh!t together

I've based my thoughts on SAAFL History, I've been around for a while and the number of "Favourites" that have fallen at the hurdles we call Finals is astonishing, CLG's recent Finals fadeouts & the Young Deez finnishing 5th for 5 or 6 years, in a row should know what I'm talking about.

Of course Carey, your spot on, WC, Trinity & LFC look like they'll make the major Rounds, based on the first 9 games....but playing in a GF or even winning one is a long way off where you finish in Round 9.

TeeBee commented he thought it was a 2 Horse Race! I recon that's the voice of Youthful Enthusiasm and I was attempting a sprincle of Reality based on facts and history. Those who get too far ahead of themselves often are left very dissapointed.

This Demon supporter is very keen to see his club move back up the SAAFL Ladder and is super impressed with 8 of the 1st 9 games, played by the Vidal Sassoon Demons.

However, dare I say it? The only way to move up is to be winning games at the end of the season. By playing one game at a time and respecting every opponent! Save the arrogance for the footy field when the ball is to be won. 8)

Who will take out the ressies? Kfc and lockleys seem to be going ok here. Do these clubs have more depth than wc and trinity?

half way point of the season and the ladder is starting to take shape.
my end of season ladder at this point

premiers... Trinity=good well balanced team, well coached, good structures and a smart team with a good balance of smalls and talls, excellent depth

runners up...west croydon=good power forwards, good blend of smalls and well drilled.had no real injuries at this stage and this worries me because depth is shallow and with a couple of injuries can they replace them?

third...CLG=hard one but with so many injuries so far,a new coach they really havent had much luck.their players coming back are going to be fresh and they have been stung with the bagging.expect them to have a late charge but just to fall at the end

fourth...lockleys=young side who have been up for a long time but have played excellent footy.reason not higher is that this team will have to be managed well and dont think they have the person in charge to do this

fifth....Kenilworth just from a resurgent Paralowie=both teams are better than the rest and to be honest thats not hard

relegation...mitchell park and henley=easy really.ingle farm will survive and start the rebuilding for next year.the lions are gone and could end up in the c grades next year if something doesnt change drastically and henley to be honest prefer the easy life in div 7

just stabs in the dark but just my opion
second half will be very interesting with some big heads being put in their place and some quiet achievers on the march
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

WOW! Morning Dee Man

Another tough but fair appraisal.....BUT Jeez I hope your wrong!

We've got 12 weeks to prove it and I have tremendous faith in this playing group and I recon they may just do that.

Well done on calling it as you see it. 8)

Depth at the Hawks has always been a worry, and I thought it would be the same again this year, but I reckon they've progressed in this area.

We know that their best 21 is an awesome side, but from all reports players 22-30 are very capable of playing A Grade.

They'll remain a consistent side and with a dream draw for the last half of the year, they'll finish top and progress to the GF.

How is Liam Davis travelling down at Houghton?
Was a machine for the roosters in their 17's GF making every other player look like small children, so i wonder how he is going in the senior side.
Anyone shed any light?

A good honest lad is Liam - very level-headed for a young fella.

A top addition to the team and has played a huge part in our competitiveness so far this year as a key forward.
