A dissapointing result as we were leading right up to about halfway through the last quarter and were over ran. We started well and got up to about a 4 goal lead at one point but we switched off at important times during the last half. Our discipline really cost us and was probably the main reason we lost. The umpires weren't great, I think Blackfriars blokes would agree but we did give away way too many stupid free kicks and 25m penalties mainly through the midfield which hurt us blokes down back. This gave Blackfriars too many opportunities which they took to full advantage.

On a positive note we ran hard, tackled hard and battled really well all day which was great to see, showing we have the ability to compete in D5 this year. We were just pipped at the post, which happens.

Some of the better players for us I thought were:
Our defence,
Davis,
Eagels,
Kolbig,
Olcurn,
Price,
Rowlands,
Watts

And for Blackfrairs don't know too much about their team but I thought there 2 Ruckman and midfield brigade played well. Number 49 Sam Murphy (I hope thats right) playing on the wing, I thought was probably their best for the day.

Also well done to the B grade for getting up today by 59 points. Had a good team today and all of the 21 played well. A well deserved result. Will post more info after presentations tonight

well done to your lads DK. b's touched us up and the a's we got out of jail. your lads seemed to run out of steam. big lad in ruck and everywhere else was very good. our last quarter was pretty good and a couple of moves worked. the tackler needed to be rewarded more consistently by the umps. they were pretty keen to pay 25's as well.

Thanks mate good luck for the rest of the year and yeah the umps were keen weren't they, must of been watching too much AFL :D

And Both Eagels and Wattsy in the ruck watch out for them this year boys, just wait til you see these 2 in full flight.

How did MAD DOG Duerden go in his first run for the year? think he was playing in the 2's?

Well SS your mate did ok consider he cannot see a bloody thing!! He's as blind as a bat!! Played Centre half back in the B's. Started on fire with about five touches in the first five minutes but it was all down hill from there and it was a very, very steep hill. I think he fell over his own feet about 8-9 times when there was no one around him, one time of which resulted in a Blackfriars goal i think. I reckon i'll being seeing him in the A's before not to long, if he can find his contacts that is

Incorrect. Changerooms require maintenance.
Looking forward to playing at thebby

Maintenance? I think the word you are looking for is "renovation"

Maddog carried his fine form from Oakbank into Saturday, it promised a lot but in the end he couldn't get it up I mean get going.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

There was a similar call made like that last year in Div 5 and the team involved made the GF and was promoted. I think Duncs may vouch for that. Not saying this will be the same but definitely too early to be making calls like that.
