Was Hendo the B grader? He would have played enough A grade games to qualify anyway?

negative

you dont need permit to go up
anyone can go up a grade

just not down without permit if your higher grade side not playing

Unless rules have changed Henley should be able to move players up and down as they see fit as long as coming down they don't drop 2 grades ie A's to C's or B's to D's, but can promote up to any grade, but following week would again have to look at demotions not jumping 2 grades.

So going by that, they could easily drop 5 or 6 from the B's to their C's to play Paralowie this week? Well, going by what you said - the whole 22 if they wanted to. Is that right?

No higher side would unnecessarily risk their chances through injury, suspension, but would certainly drop "fringe" players or players needing an extra run to the lower grade.

I agree they are not going to drop or risk their best players.
We had these same issues last week with CLG, as Trinity only had B Grade in the finals. The SAAFL informed us if both sides are in the finals the can move players down to play B Grade (or up to play A's), but even tho CLG A Grade had the week off they still had to submit a team sheet last week for their A Grade and have to play those players this week, they can not play any A Grader that played in the B Grade game last week, but are free to play them the week later as long as they dont play B Grade again this week.

A little unfair i believe, we couldnt play a player that played 10 A Grade games and 8 B Grade games as he hadnt played majority games in the B Grade. I agree to the majority rule as those boys should be the ones rewarded with playing finals but i dont think it fair that a side can play A Graders just because they have a week off and we couldnt play a player that had played almost half and half? The majority rule should apply to both sides or SAAFL should come up with a fairer rule system. Players that have played only a couple B Grade games should not be allowed to play B Grade finals.

thats nothing we have a guy that played 13 b grade games and the last 5 in a grade only through injuries our a grade had the week of for coming top, so it was decided to play him in the 2s and what do you know the people at saafl decliened it so can someone tell me what is the point of finishing top.and to really add insult they then decliened us a home final as well ,you might as well finish 2nd or 3rd and hope your 2s make it as well.

Don't doubt Henley's ability to legitimately tinker with their teams to find the perfect balance for each game, while considering possible games ahead. They did it perfectly in 2004 and would be planning something very similar.

Really?? Now im totally confused so why cant he play in the B Grade if he has played majority in that grade? Someone only has to play 4 games for the season and they can then qualify for finals (Is that right?)? what the hec are the rules i dont think even the SAAFL know, my husband has spoken to them 3 times in the last couple of weeks and has been told 3 different things regarding finals?

Yeah well who really cares about my strict training practices as long as i played well.

Don't think you had anything to do with it was all in the glove!

Hahahaha i have my reasons for the glove, its really a handicap (excuse the pun) in wet conditions.
Heard the rumor last night that Nivo has put his hand up to coach, i thought he would be better ofF coaching players with the same mantallity as him, lets say around u9's...........

Come on Gregory let's not add to vicious rumours, have heard straight from the horses mouth that this is Definitely not true and there is no difference between U9's or seniors, all still like to hear how good they are, how well they played etc! but did hear that you were going out to play Div 1 next year.....surely that is not true?
why not?
surely his attitude towards football coaches and players would hold him in good stead for Div 1 footy

in all seriousness prob what he needs
mmmm yeah im might go Div1 just to see if i can may go else where as well, But dont laugh at the idea of Nivo coaching i rekon thats the short fave

Riddler our home final got approved. We have to play with 21 2m as we have been told no b grader can go up. How is this fair?. I guess it is something to do with where you are from

I realise this may not be fair if a club doesnt have enough numbers between their A & B Grade sides, but why should it be fair that a side can drop A Graders into the B Grade cause they have a week off. It would be a pretty crap to think CLG can fill their side with half A Graders last week and then those players were then allowed to play A Grade this week! I think B Grade players should be allowed to go up but dont agree players that have played majority A Grade games should be allowed to be dropped down in finals!

What about R. Ryan or S. Hawking to sit on the bench? Neither played last week.

That is a bit crap for you guys i agree, but if you have enough numbers i ask why do you need to pull up someone from the B Grade? Surely for one week you guys could get by with a player that didnt play last week?

Im not trying to sound argumentative on the subject and i really hope you guys go all the way this year, i just really disagree with A Graders being allowed to play in B Grade finals.

Saying that i realise some players will play half and half season or close to half half season in both grades and i think those guys should be allowed to play A and B Grade finals but i think its wrong that for example last saturday CLG had a few players that have played majority A Grade games playing in a B Grade Final, 1 player played 11 A Grade/ 6 B Grade, another 10 A Grade / 2 B Grade, another 4 A Grade/ 2 B Grade, another 4 A Grade / 1 B Grade, another 3 A Grade / 3 B Grade....... this is wrong and unfair, Trinity applied for a permit for one of their boys that had played 10 A Grade and 8 B Grade and it got denied just because Trinity didnt have an A Grade side in finals and so he had to have played majority in B Grade But on the other hand CLG can play whom ever they like? I guess thats the advantage of finishing a season well and im sure Trinity may do the same thing if they were in the same position I just think the rules for lower grades should all be the same regardless if clubs have a higher side still playing.

What can you do??? nothing!!!! Thats the rules so i guess its just bad luck its disadvantage for the top sides if they choose to boost their B Grade and take that risk for their A Grade the following week and its a disadvantage to the lower B Grade sides that then have a much lesser chance at winning.....

Anyways good luck 2moro hope it hasnt caused you guys too many problems, you guys still look pretty good favourites even if you do have 1 less :D

Well done to you boys will be seeing you next year. Just thought you may be interested to ring the SAAFL and see why some clubs get hit with the rules and some dont, was at CLG game today and wow what a surprise Aaron Brown #15 was running around playing in their A Grade, now im sure the rules stated if he played B Grade last week he wasnt able to play A Grade this week? Maybe CLG have 2 Aaron Brown's #15 but my photos and video recordings of both games it looks like the same guy to me! And there was no permit applied for on the SAAFL site for him to play.
