Also not a total bad result for West Croydon. No1 Ruckman and CHF didnt play.

But will Ali play at all this year? I think he is having trouble making up his mind at the moment.

Im pretty sure he is.

I'm quite sure he is. Whats he making up his mind about..? Besides getting his case of vaginitis looked at by the Doc.

As for the new recruits, yeah we all played and yeah we are all VERY unfit! You wont see the best out of us until another months time but it'll come slowly. Two of the 'recruits' have been to 3 trainings between them, while the other 2 are coming back from 2-3 seasons out of the game..not makin any excuses but they shouldn't have been talked up all preseason like they were...im a bit of a culprit for that too but aye.

If any tall players want to come out to Glenunga (above 6"0, haha i think youd be very welcome!) Well done to all teams that played on weekend anyways

wtf are you on drugs or something man. this is one of the stupidist comments ive ever seen. stop embarrassing your club and yourself..whatabout if b l are the second worst team and the next team beats you by 50 goals etc. are they then going to win the gf......unfknblable

If they dont win the flag there is something wrong. Not trying to convince you glenunga went well, but BL are a seriously well drilled, well balanced and professional unit.

sorry just found another......but one thing is for sure jimmy, one of your comments was also oh so true....... im not living on earth ....only thing ive found to be true.......  doh

I don't know of any BL players involved with Centrals at the moment mate. I may be mistaken though.

Good to see our southern neighbours sticking up for the MPFC! Good work and thanks for the trial...

LaughingKookaburra wrote:Not to mention Mitchell Park went with Marion last week and Marion would be better than anything div 6 can offer.
Parkies lost by 4 goals in a very competative match. Good hit out.

LaughingKookaburra wrote:People are judging these blokes on their trial v Central United at Elizabeth. Do you really think they were anything near full strength when they play their first trial on the other side of town.
Our coach read out 22 players names before the start of the game - those of which weren't able to play. We still had a solid team in though. We got sucked in with some tom foolery which turned it into a bit of a scrap.

LaughingKookaburra wrote:They will break some hearts this year sorry to say fellas, probably make the 5.
I hope you're right!

LaughingKookaburra wrote:In the southern messenger I notice Happy Valley cleared quite a few names to Mitchell Park. Happy Valley are no mugs...........

Stroker wrote:I also watched Mitchell Parks last trial and I thought they looked fairly solid in knocking off Kennilworth. Mind you Kennilworth were still missing a fair few and I dont know if Mitchell Park were at full strength or not.
We had about 10 A grade players out. Although our very best were playing.

Round 2 against Paralowie will be very interesting for both teams, a chance for all too see how things have progressed from your Div 7 clashes last year.

Mitchell Park vs Paralowie - Paralowie to win 30 points, have some smart football players and area a physical team
Brahma Lodge v Hectorville - BL to win 30 points, but no where as easy as round 1, Hectorville will be round the mark this year
West Croydon vs Central United -West Croydon to win 20 points, think Central will be down the bottom half this year
Lockleys vs Trinity - Lockleys to win 25 points, very hard to beat at home, didn't play well at all rd 1 and was still able to win
Colonel Light vs Glenunga - CL to win easy 100 + points, they will have a field day. How many for Harvey??

I suggest we wait until all teams play each other at least once before making rash statements!

No doubt we were happy with our result but lets wait and see how other teams fair against Glenunga, I do believe they are in for a very long season though...

Let me also clear a few other things up!

Central Reserves players!!! - NONE!
6'5+ - I doubt that, we may have a few around 6'2 - 6'3 but dont most sides!?

Thats me done...

Yeah it should be good. There is a lot of respect for Paralowie from us, they were too good for everyone last year. Tough, experienced side and very well led.

Mitchell Park have definitely improved. We have had some really promising trial games and a solid round 1 win but until you get a good form line how we'll go in 2009 is anyone's guess, including ours.

One thing I did find staggering was quite a few peoples theory that the only good players MPFC have are the McDonnell brothers (even though Luke was at Happy Valley last year). I guess Damien Bates 100+ goals last season also wasn't that good....
