Besides their white socks the crabs looked good today

Rowe was the difference, always reminds me of a lee tutor that played for geelong

Is smithfield the first side to beat flinders park at home this year?

No Angle Vale beat them to at home by a couple of goals.
The Owls a happy we have three home games now to finish the year off, and our oval has no mud at all still like a pre season oval is hard like it was at the start of the year. Dont know what they did when the layed it but the rain only makes the surface greasy.

Looking over the ladder.. can Smithfield continue their flying form and snag a double chance by the end of the season??

Angle Vale and Houghton tied on 22pts and play each other before the end of the season, and both finish the season home against tough opponents likely to be fighting for a finals spot while Smithfield have Broadies last round..

Don't think so PG, on paper - Angle Vale should win 2 and probably all 3, & Houghton should win 2 of their 3. AV will finish 2nd & the odds are with Houghton as Smithfield will need to win all 3 & HD lose to Flinders Uni. If HD have their injured players back by then I can't see that happening.

Smithfield would have to win all 3 (henley home, Ingle Farm away, broadview home) likely 2 wins = 11wins

Houghton have a tough run (broadview, angle vale away, crabs away) may lose last 2 if crabs upset them? = 12 wins

angle vale (shocs at home, houghton at home, flinders park at home) who knows what will happen here, could lose all 3 but likely at least 2 wins = 13 wins, no easy games for angle vale now but this could take them a long way in finals ie:tougher lead up

smithfield will need to beat Ingle farm for a 3rd spot

Reading all these scenarios and having a look at the draw it could likely be that the crabs finals chances for both of their grades come down to beating Houghton at home in the last round?

Given their percentage, they'll probably need to beat Ingle Farm this week as well.

Ah right, in the reserves though the Uni side has a 10% advantage but sit a win adrift. So this could shape up as a winner plays finals game

The season is set for a cracking finish!! The final 5 positions will be determined by the results right up until the end of round 18!!!

Ingle Farm have stitched up top spot now and are the only team that can not budge!!!

We will be looking to finish 2nd and get the home final but we know we are going to have to work extremely hard these last few rounds. We have been very unlucky with injuries and have had many quality players not available the last few weeks but hopefully will be getting most of them back by round 18!!!!!
Good luck to all teams, (except for when we play you!!) ha :D

To All D7 Clubs

The Broadview Football Club wishes to advise after much thought and consideration the club has withdrawn the D7Res side from the competition for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Season 2013 promised a lot for both our C & D Grade after a successful D8 & D8R season in 2012 but due to injuries and player transfers this has seen the player stocks take a severe hit this year.

We thank all other clubs for being understanding of the last few weeks as attempted to keep the side going but the lack of numbers finally took its toll.

The club wishes all teams the best for the rest of the season in this grade.

About the only thing broken is SAAFL's acceptance of the Henley C Grade/D Grade debacle. Still, it's a challenge!

Not really anything the SAAFL can do. It is a club culture issue. You wonder how many of Henley's Div 7 players are happy with the situation?

I don't understand the problem with the Henly C & D grade. Huge difference between the A & B grade in this comp. if you guys think it is sandbagging it been going on for years and WTF can the SAAFL do about it. I personally don't worry about it. They are not some sort of super side they are a bunch of older fella's having a kick together.

Exactly Cows, what amuses me is the people whinging about it most on this forum are those who are concerned cause they think their 'B' grade should really be beating a 'D' grade team.......
