One would think if Gepps bowed out today, Roe would be carefully looked at.
With the players at his disposal, you would think nothing other than a Grand Final would be accepted
Plus the money that runs onto that ground each week, wether you can afford it or not questions would have to be asked

Yes i'm hearing you, i could only handle 40 mins of that crap last night.
Far more entertaining footy today at Amateur League Level providing the umpires let it be that way & not think its about them. :)

Gepps Cross 11.6 Pt Dist 7.9
Gepps jumped Dist early 5.3 to 0.1pt in the first yet was outscored by Dist the remainder of the game.
Gepps were alot cleaner with their use of the footy in terrible conditions but both sides never gave up, i was thinking the conditions would suit Dist which they did but Gepps surprised me with a few of their big fella's controlling the ball in the air like it was a dry day ( Collins, Taylor ) Taylor controlled the back half & Collins the fwd half as far as the bigs are concerned but i was impressed with no24 Campbell who racked up numerous possesions & most importantly used them effectively.
Well done to Jason Roe there was alot of pressure on him today but he handled it well to take them one step closer.

Well done to Ricky Pearce on his 1st year coaching the As, a great effort getting Pt Dist in the finals for the first time in 10 years in A1.

Might be of benefit to you to be aware of the facts, Jason Roe was reappointed 3 weeks ago, not sure that would have happened had there been any doubt about his future at the club and the direction the club is heading. As for your comment re "money that runs onto the ground each week", not sure you'd have any idea, maybe just another guess-expert eh!

NM, in the appalling weather the game was a credit to both sides. Noone could expect too much skill to be on show but both sides showed they were worthy of playing finals. I thought Roey learnt from the previous loss that if you can negate Alfy Steed you cut out a lot of Districts opportunities, Gavin Rose did this job very well and Steedy was ineffective all day.
Kane Officer, who signed on again for next season an hour before the match, was outstanding in defence along with Josh Taylor and Scott Klenner. The first quarter belonged to the Campbell brothers,Stengle, Collins and Hudson and David Savage again showed his extra efforts are up with the best. A great lead up into next week when hopefully the weather doesn't have the same influence as it did yesterday.
Congrats to Rick Pearce,he copped some stick early in the season but shut a few people up, however, we had to give him a bit as well last night as after he had a few beers with us, he went back to his car to find the battery was flat ' cause he'd left his lights on. We got him going but he left feeling a bit like the world had turned 'dark' on him, hopefully it hasn't.

Incidentally, if what I've heard about a certain inclusion into the SAAFL Team of the Year proves to be correct, there may well be some "red faces' across the selection panel and questions asked in the near future.

Sorry i should of mentioned Gavin Rose he completely shut down Alf Steed & never gave him a sniff all day.
Those Campbell boys 24 & 27 are very clever footballers, not to often you'd see them burn the ball even in poor conditions like yesterday, i mentioned Taylor & Collins coz i thought they'd find it tough in the conditions coz of their height but they didn't, they came to play & adapted to the conditions beautifully.
This weeks game at T T Gullys oval i'd say you'd want to brink your snorkels & goggles as the ground will be under water.

NM, I reckon this game will be played at Thebby. TTG can't have home finals as they don't fit the SAAFL criteria required in having West End beer on tap. Should be able to leave the flippers and goggles at the gate.

That can only be a good thing, we all know what a hole Gully's oval is maybe they'll change the taps to WEST END this week to get a final.
Its looking like another straight set finals exit coming up for T T Gully if its at Thebby.
I didn't realise they hadn't WEST END on tap down their, i bet you they'll change that next year for sure if not this week!

Their clubrooms are in the processes of being re-built so they wouldn't have had the facilities for a home final anyway I wouldn't think (Big Daddy can correct me if Im wrong though)

Would they play it at Campbelltown perhaps?

I think we will play there

As a D1 final, they would be at The Barton

That's right FC, the Clubrooms are being totally renovated - we moved out a couple of weeks ago and are now located in the Little Athletics Club on the bottom oval.
I am pretty sure we will be playing at Thebby, but will find out (tentatively), this morning. Will probably be both our A's and B's as they will both be the 'Home' side this week.

Great win by Gepps Cross on saturday. I for one had written them off against a team that seemed to have had there measure. Gepps first qtr when the footy wasn't like soap really set the tone and it was always going to be hard for Districts to come back from 5 goals down. Cox early was very good and the campbell's 24 & 27 were outstanding in trying conditions. At stages there looked to be more Gepps Players on the field in the first qtr in a dominate display. However i did think after qrt time Port Districts played some good football just not for long enough periods. Be a very good game this weekend TTG vs Gepps im not riding Gepps off again. TTG out in straight sets for mine!!!!

as a youngster taylor always played through the centre as he wasnt as tall as he is today, having done that when young would have made it easier for him to adapt to the weather rather then a big man that has always been tall!
