Tough Round of matches. Anyone want to have a crack at the tips?

Port v SHOC - Port by 1-24 in an upset. Both teams look full strength pretty much so time for Port to make a statement

BDOS v SPOC - Bombers by 1-24. Bombers must win or they are off to Div 2. I'll take another upset to keep this Batshit crazy season alive.

Broadies v PNU - Falcs by 1-24. No certainty at all here. White, Liddle and Wozza all playing makes the Tigers look a lot more dangerous.

PAC v TTG - PAC by 1-24. Its been over a month since either team sang the song. No list up for Gullies yet but seeing some returns and some of their structure players makes the Reds look different. Sumner, Neal, Brazel and McNamara is a group i just cant picture in the relegation zone.

Glenunga v Golden Grove - Glenunga by 1-24. Intriguing match where i want to entertain an upset but not at Webb

Top 3 and relegation spots are all a chance to change in this round of games.

I’ll go:
Dizzies to win and gain some momentum going into finals
Saints but only just
Broadies are a better side then the W/L show
Princesses will be too good
Golden Grove to cause an upset at Webb Oval and give Glenunga their 1st loss(might even sneak past for a look)
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Past Players Day at Webb tomorrow. Bad time for the Rams to have their first loss of the season, Amber.

Obviously nothing came of the incident with Shaun Tapp last week?

GG would love to spoil the past players party.
The Rams best will get the job done but anything less and I see GG winning here

Love it. 3 tips different to me and i wouldn't argue with any of them. Speaks to just how good a comp it has been this year. particularly with the top 2 having not been to the mountain top.

Abe Davis for me

Abe
Or Sam Gray for me

Toss of the coin

Davis is just as a dangerous when resting forward (hardly resting)

Davis by a fair stretch for me. Nunn at age 28 would be second and has shown his impact at PNU

I say this with no inside knowledge but i would be flabbergasted if Abe is not Glenunga's next coach.

He would be worth about 50K if he was willing to exit and travel in 2025.

Should we start a footy club Jim and pay him in beers ;)

That would breach the salary cap wouldn't it?
Do they have a salary cap over in the Western Eyre if thats what you mean? I dont think they have the APPS do they?

Port v SHOC - SHOC by 1-24
BDOS v SPOC - Bombers by 1-24 if wet. The baggers wont like dirty shorts (PAOC didn't either)
Broadies v PNU - Broadies 1- 24 with the ins
PAC v TTG - PAC by 1-24 but nervous. TTG can be anything on any day. Some big names back for PAOC.
Glenunga v Golden Grove - Bronze Grove to spoil the day

Anything is possible tomorrow

Reckon you can pay a grand a week if you're player/coach, maybe it's a grand to coach and $500 to play (legal match fees, of course...)

If Brighton can somehow get the win this weekend and Gully's drop to PAC, the Round 18 clash against GG is shaping up to be absolutely biblical.

Great standard game at Broadview but for goal kicking by each side.

Highly watchable and huge turn out for Broadies past players day

Same in all 3 grades, it was almost like both clubs were playing for the worst set shot miss trophy

3 great games though, all played in great spirit and all 3 well umpired

Anyone at Districts yesterday would not dispute Lycett and Gray being named in the Div 1 top 10 players. Was Ruck to Rover poetry in motion all day.
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.

Not sure anyone is disputing the best players overall in our league have played AFL. It was more the fact it was titled... "The Advertiser's Top 10 Div 1 players so far this season:"

The notion being that Renfreys list was reputation based and not based on facts or research.

Up until yesterday on form, statistics, voting and results they were not in the top 10. Yesterday very much so. I don't think anyone would want to be playing Port on Grand Final day.

It's a tough one to analyse.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me, the SHOC bloke whacks the Broadview bloke, breaks his jaw, ergo plenty of weeks

Seems no report was made as no one was listed as suspended in the weekly reports

Games to go

PAOC 12 42.95 GG(A) PNU(A) SHOC(H)
BFC 10 45.08 SPOC(A) TTG(H) BBFC(H)
BBFC 8 46.80 TTG(A) PDFC(H) BFC(A)
TTG 8 47.41 BBFC(A) BFC(A) GG(A)
SPOC 8 45.01 BFC(H) GFC(H) PDFC(A)

PAOC could go 0-3 with bad %. They need to win one of the next 2 games to be safe.
Broadview would appear to be OK - they have their future in their own hands - 2 home games and could win 3
Brighton need to win 2 - this week is vital for them
TTG need to win 2 - this week is vital for them
SPOC need to win 2 - if they can win 1 of the next 2 weeks, its another cut throat game at PDFC - 2 years in a row

(3 years for PDFC - they have lost the last 2 years' final games to Iggies and SPOC - both stayed up)

Broadies have from memory only won 1 maybe 2 games at home this season and have won only 2 of the last 7 or 8 played

Their best is good enough, just not seeing it over four quarters

The Over/Under betting market is 2.5's for Coaches departing Div 1 clubs at the end of the season...I'll take the overs

Brett Backwell has announced his departure at seasons end from Brighton after 4 years.
