indeed there is

MEMBERSHIP: NEW ADMISSIONS
6.1 Any club desirous of playing Australian Football may make application for
admission to The League.
6.2 Each application made in accordance with paragraph 6.1 above shall be
considered by the Executive Committee and accepted or rejected at the sole
discretion of the Executive Committee.
6.3 All applications for membership shall be made and determined in accordance
with the provisions of the Rules and Regulations of The League relating to such
applications.
6.4 The decision of the Executive Committee shall be final and there shall be no
appeal against that decision.

That seems very broad, surely the board must give the club some feedback on why they were denied?

On the issue of collecting at the gate - is there anything actually in the rules that says they cant? I mean if they're able to charge entry fee and have the means then good luck to them what's the problem?

No doubt, but in comparison with the location of the other 60-odd C9AFL clubs, Hackham is a fair outlier.

If i was a betting man, my guess would be the logistics of making clubs like Trinity, Smiffies and the like travel over the hill.

We could go into the old travel debate again but lets face it, Eastern Park to St Marys, or Trinity to Flinders Uni is enough of a day trip in anyones languagae. Lets not be adding another 15-20 minutes onto the trip.
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

My guess isn't geographic.

Well, I guess Roseworthy's regional Gawler - Adelaide to Roseworthy is 58kms.
Adelaide to Trinity is 39 kilometres. I do that trip a bit.

You can't be serious? Its called the Adelaide Football League, not the Northern Football League. There are at least 2 teams in regional areas already in the comp...Hackham is at least in metro area!!!

Say a really strong club like Reynella wants to come to in with their 18 teams, are you going to knock them back as they are a half hour drive from the city?

My guess, the following reasons:
Logistics
They would've entered into D6 at the highest - the sides next year will likely be and approx. distance from Hackham in brackets:
* West Croydon / Woodville South (33-38km)
* Ingle Farm (40km)
* Brahma Lodge (49km)
* Trinity OS (75km)
* Fitzroy (30km)
* Mawson Lakes (40km)
* Salisbury West (54km)
* Houghton (50km)
* Mitchell Park (25km)

With the exception of Mitchell Park, the rest are on the a good hour plus away, they'd need to be leaving home before 10am most weeks to be at the grounds by 11am to get themselves organised.

Competitiveness
Would hold their own in the A's but their B grade are deplorable, how many 10am starts and getting flogged by 30 goals before players decided it wasn't worth the effort?

Numbers
Following on from competitiveness how many players they gonna have? We played them pre-season at Rosewater, they struggled to field a B grade - I gave them half a dozen players, and then they had a handful back up and play A grade straight after as well.

Discipline
Reputation for being a bit on the undisciplined side, and obviously have had a few incidents that have made the paper in recent times - the league wont want to take that on board - especially at the moment with so much other stuff going on in and around the comp.

I think the league might've just decided thanks but no thanks, don't think it's a good fit for anyone at the moment..

Difference is Reynella would start in a higher division, and generally speaking the higher the division the closer to the CBD the clubs seem to be lol :lol:

At least that's how it seems :D

In an ideal world, I'd think the league would like to slowly gravitate south, hence MVP and Brighton would be a logical start. Jumping then all the way down to Hackham probably isn't ideal.

I cant tell, but we aren't talking about 10yrs time - we are talking about a side coming in next year.

Bottom line is - we don't want them (Hackham), you can keep them :lol:

Apart from the distance you could be talking about Morphettville Park there, seen their B grade results?

When it started TOSFC was playing at Blakeview.
Surrounded by Smithfield, Elizabeth, Eastern Park.
Angle Vale entered, 10 minutes down the road from Gawler, so there was no problem with TOS playing at Gawler, five minutes away.
It only looks so bad now, because AVFC have moved to the Plains.

You seem very keen to support Hackham's move, Dutchy.
