Adelaide Footy League Talk

[quote="Pag. I think Falcon Chick will back me up when I say that we would've had one of, if not the, youngest A Grade sides in the whole of the amateur league. So if you're accusing Salisbury of not breeding kids to play A Grade footy, I would strongly disagree with that./quote]

You've got my back up Pag, I think the average age of the senior side was about 19 or 20 last season, and as i said in the div 4 thread, really served it up to more established sides like us, it would only be injury (like last season), fitness and possibly the club not doing the right thing by the players that would stop the club from succeeding this years and in years to come...

Did you see the Pooraka or Eastern Park game?

Not sure now, think it was EP?

Do know it was either the last or second last home game of the year...

Heard that Henley are losing a lot of players next season, can anyone confirm that....

they can't realy afford to lose to many but with the old coach in Grant Levy coming back i can see why they would want to leave, that will be damaging in division 1 next year...

You guys had your mind made up half way through the year regardless of how the side went.... Didnt brant take the club to the grandfinal that year & got the club back up to div 1 ... Then you appointed simon peuker for one year & went back down to div 2 & then he left to go to port districts where lynch, christofis, Fanny & possibly others have followed him. Thank god you have signed hodgey cause i was starting to wonder what direction was the club heading in.

When you say if MB actually showed up for trainings - Does that mean he didnt rock up or he was late.... There is a difference.
Bloody good coach in my book - Well respected coach & a good understanding of the game.
Rumour has it he is coaching gawler centrals in barossa and gawler league.... Keep an eye on them this year.

Speaking to guys at seaton they say a different story. Apparently peuker took most trainings and may as well have been coaching the year they made the gf against towns. Sounds like you have some issues with SP cruzn.

Way to give the new coach some confidence in his position. They're gonna have to do a bit to catch Freeling and Barossa District anyway I would think.

Barossa won't be as good next year, they have already lost a couple and they lose another import spot. They shelled out a lot of coin for that premiership last year and I don't think they can back it up again next year.

not sure. Dont want to speculate either, but their football manager has bailed as well....

3 more senior players are looking to move on as well to a Div 2 club..

How do you think Greg Anderson (cove) and Tony Francis (brighton) will go coaching in the Southern League? Whats the chances of them bringing any big names across?

Postby tnt » Fri Dec 15, 2006 7:45 am

The saafl website for coaching positions (http://www.saafl.asn.au/jobs/index.php) only has Flinders Uni listed looking for a Coach.

If Francis can commit the time to coaching, implement a game plan, train to a game plan and stay focussed on the game for long enough instead of getting caught up in the game and abusing opposition players, coaches and supporters then he will go well.
