Yep, PNU played well. As expected, Pembroke were as soft as butter and PNU were hard at it. Was surprised at the half time scoreline. It was neck and neck despite PNU playing much better. PNU kept it going for the full 4 quarters. Thought Billy Kolias and Tyson Burrows were the standouts.

Was a little surprised at Old Iggies getting up, would have been very disappointing for Walkerville. With the A grade bowing out it might have an impact on player availability for their B grade side.

It will be a big game at Torrens Valley. We're hopeful we can handle the crowd OK. The BBQ will make a return this week, the beer booth and canteen will also be running per normal.

Still cannot believe Salisbury didn't appoint him for this season the moment his application was received. The best senior coach the club has had in the past 20 years without a doubt.

What game do we watch this weekend? I'll be at Pembroke for the magoos, so i can stay there for Pembroke vs Igiies, head out to Torrens Valley for Athelstone vs PNU or go back to Salisbury and watch Blacks vs Wingies in A7. Quality football all round.

Anyone got a result from the medal count? Did my pick Burrows take it out?

He did indeed... but not by as much as we thought he might. He Lead right up to round 11 or 12 then the lead swapped with Grossman and whats his name from Eastern Park. Then neck and neck right up until round 17. Lucky for Tys he pulled 3 votes from the game against Salisbury.

Tyson Burrows back to back McKay Medal winner with 23 votes, and I think Mal Grossman from Athelstone was runner up on 18.

A good night had by all, had a few celebratory bevvies at the Daniel O'Connel afterwards and caught up with cruzn9 and Carey.

Who to watch Pag??? Lets see, 2 hours of soft college footy, Blacks v Royals (what are you thinking?) or 2 hours of top quality blockbuster football at Torrens Valley... hmm, I'd choose option 3 ( but then i have no choice really, do i?)

He won because I picked him before the last game and I thought I'd better let him run amok against us Round 18 so I'd get my pick right. :P

I'm joking, but in all seriousness, congrats to Tyson, well deserved, and congrats to me, for picking it...

Well, if I don't feel like moving after the B grade, I can stay at Haslam. If I feel like watching a very good game of football, I could head out to Torrens Valley. Or if I decide I'd rather put money over my own bar instead of the tent at Haslam, and see how good CJ and the boys really are, I could head back to Salisbury.

Decisions...

There was about 2000 at Torrens Valley. Others thought it was in that region too. A few of the older members said that it was the biggest crowd they'd seen at Torrens Valley. Even bigger than the early days of SAFA. The Club certainly did OK through the canteen, BBQ, beer booth and the Meat Tray raffle.

The result was disappointing for the A's, but the B's got through. Both games were close. PNU kicked 4 goals in the 3rd quarter to put the game in their favour and they closed it out well in the last.

Should get a couple back for the next one, including Hopper. Really missed him on the forward line.

FC would be wearing a big smile.

Just a little smile

One of the best games of footy i've seen in a LONG time, even better than when we played Athelstone in the first round.

A relatively low scoring game for the most part, Zanks commented it was almost like both sides were playing "cautious" football, the bloody wind didnt help either, I think our score was about 3.10 at half time.

No injuries to report either,
One thing granted.... with either Pembroke or Athelstone as opponents at least I know that this years Grand Final wont be anything like last years.... [-o<

In all honesty falcon chick, who would you prefer to play in the grandfinal this year (Athelstone or Pembroke)
What a brilliant game on the weekend, But athelstone have afew concerns with injuries. I still recon you be better of playing pembroke in the grandfinal to better your chances.

My personal prefence is irrelevant really as obviously i'm not playing, as for the players...well there would be reasons for and against wanting to play either team (weather conditions, team structure etc.). Sentimentally though, one would say Athelstone with the traditional rivalry and all but we're ready to take on whoever it may be...

HOWEVER.... if I were speaking as CBC's trainer...

FC If they did that again their IQ would be negative (if its not already) I think they have booted out all the twats who caused the trouble last year and if they were to do it again they would be kicked out of the SAAFL
