Without wanting to sound like a sore loser, the umpires were DISGRACEFULL!! Infact they were that bad I was thinking late in the 2nd quarter that a massive all in brawl was going to break out, and there was not going to be a thing they were going to do about it. Ticky tac free kicks, inconsistency and NO authority on the field..

Having said that United were good after half time, as for my criticism of the farm ill keep that to myself..

A big day yesterday Phantom? 6 gls in the magoos. :ymapplause:

How many 10 goal forwards can The Riddler fit in to his gun team? His only loss to Mitchell Pk this year must have fired them up bigtime. =)) =)) =))

While we are bagging umpires (always a bit of fun), yesterdays match between Woody South & Trinity in the Reserves saw the Cats win by one point. Or so they thought...

The scoreboard showed a one point win, the Cats goal umpire had a one point win and the timekeeper had a one point win. The Trinity goal umpire storms through the middle of the ground where both teams were shaking hands, declaring to the celebrating Cats 'it's a draw you idiots'.

Lucky commonsense prevailed and he was sorted out - he had Trinity listed as kicking a behind in the last, which the umpires could easily recall as not happening.

Who's the idiot now?

A man of his quality would get $600 a game anywhere. Surely the Riddler must take a pay cut from his $30,000 coaching fee and the $10,000 set aside for the new statue at Geoff Riddle Reserve to ensure Greg Kells remains a Saint for life. Give him at least $400 a game. Worth every cent for the great man.

Both B grade sides are pretty attacking Damian I was shocked to see it so low scoring, just a hard slog all game?

Haha is that the bloke with the limp? He's great value!

Had a few encounters with him over the past couple seasons. Luckily we got the last laugh. Trinitys reserves side is very good and all people associated with this grade over the past 2 seasons I think would agree they have been very unlucky not to have @ least played in a gf.

Trinity and W.South reserves sides to play off in the GF..i know its still early in the season but there is just so much daylight between them and other div6 res teams!! the only way i cant see this happening would be if either team gets hit with a terrible amount of injuries.

Big call from a Kilburn person who probably not been to a div 6 game and could not have seen all reserve sides play

Best you do keep it to yourself as critising anyone would be the coaching staffs job...Too many people at IF with big opinions on how things should be done instead of working as a solid team to get the job done. Just goes to show we have a long way to go yet.......

carey wrote:I will also comment on Ingle Farm in the fact they played a great 1st 1/4 they were all over us running in numbers, running back, great spread and doing all the 1 percenters and carried that over in to the 2nd term but after half time gee i really did feel for Knowlesy. His a fantastic guy (as is his runner who's name escapes me ATM) who both are doing everything they can to take IF in the right directaion and they were let down BIG time in the second half.

Some huge undisciplined acts at really important times to turn the game Central Uniteds way. It must be said that in reply CU also had a couple do some stupid things but i just really felt for the coaching staff as i believe they are on the right track with IF but just a couple of bad eggs (No need to name names) could unfourtinatly bring it all undone. I sincerly hope not for Knowlesy sake as i said i now have a greater respect for the man.

I think they will get that first up win soon and i wish them all the best.

Thanks Carey, you are dead right, talked to a spectator yesterday who said the first 1/2 was some of the best div 6 footy he had seen for a while, especially from IF, then we fell into the old trap of loosing the plot when things got heated and credit to your boys, they used it and thrived on it and crucified us in the 2nd half. Shows we still have a way to go, and trust me none of the coaching staff ever thought it would be a quick fix but we have made huge in roads and on Saturday we took 3 or 4 steps back. Showed us a bit about a few guys and i will be very keen to see how they respond this week. With 80 guys on our list this year and some young lads playing good B and C grade footy, they will want to make amends quickly.........As for Knowlesy, great bloke and doing a fantastic job, brought a whole new attitude and direction to IF and i hope the club backs this guy cause i'm sure success will come.

Have Ingle farm improved/going to improve this year?Played juniors for IF in the eighties and a year of seniors and still have a soft spot for the club.Growing up in the eighties and early nineties in Ingle Farm which was full of young lads was always astounded about how many played footy at other clubs e.g pooraka,greenacres,P/hills,GeppsX.Is there a good culture at Ingle Farm these days?Do other clubs have much respect for them?.Do past players of bygone eras stay in touch with club?just wanna seem them climb up the grades one day.

they are a big chance to start 0-9 which is unlucky cos they've played some good footy in patches. when they click for a whole game im sure the wins will come.
