Cleared of striking, to which the tribunal changed their charge to misconduct (wasnt aware they could do this but they did) cleared of that charge also no penalty. With the great man Cougar Hosie representing was never in doubt. In all honesty the tribunal is a joke not sure how you can get charged with striking cleared then introduce another charge. Seems like they are an organisation bigger than the game and no wonder there is a level of frustration throughout the clubs. It also highlights some of the average decisions that players are having to put up with on the field and how umpires are having too much influence on games.

Agreed. Sent off with no replacement, and then to be found not guilty of that charge, and then found not guilty of a newly laid charge on that night, is rediculous.
Very costly send off in terms of the match situation.
The old fella is free to play on.

Mate, this has been going on for years
Remember late 80s when a player was charged with sriking
Went to tribunal, at the end the spokesman said player #$%$# not guilty of striking, but we find you guilty of rough play and suspended for 1 game
The advocate went off, comment was then made do you want 2 games ?????

So nothing new to me

Prince Alfred OC v SMOSH West Lakes - PAOC too strong
Seaton Ramblers v Para Hills - Seaton to just get accross the line
Kilburn v Old Ignatians - Old Iggies should romp it in
Mitcham v Portland - Always a cracker, but gotta tip the Hawks!
CBCOC v Scotch OC - Will be a good game, but CBCOC should get up and almost put the nail in the coffin for Scotch.

Felch - you attending Sat? I'll be there to buy you that one I owe ya ;)

Old Iggies over Kilburn - should be a huge % booster
Mitcham over Portland - should be close, but the Hawks are in winning form and can't see Portland stopping them
Seaton over PH - could go either way - HG advantage doing it for me
Scotch over CBC in an upset - to keep relegation interesting!
PAC over SMOSH - if Smosh play their best footy they are a real good chance!

The huge full forward for Portland in the B grade did he get reported for knocking out the small Seaton player on saturday with a punch to the face? ( this young lad was knocked out cold & spent the night in hospital )
If he only got a yellow card & 10 minutes for that & Marshall gets a red card sent & off for the rest of the game with no replacement for 10 mins ( for a push ) then our game is in serious need of observers & umpires that know the rules & interpretations of the game.
If the Portland v Seaton A grade game was a grand final those umpires would of created & allout pitch invasion brawl.

From what i seen Marshall's report was a joke and in regards to the huge Full Forward knocking your player out, ask your club umpire why he wasnt reported!

It was the C grade for starters NM
and in regards to what happened, the player came at him (dunno why you would??) and he simply pushed him away with an open hand, when the guy hit the ground he was knocked out.
I was also told that this player is quite commonly knocked out or something like that.
is this bloke ok now NM??

Marshalls report definately wasnt worth a send off, but as we are all aware the umpires make plenty of wrong calls and this was one of them.
If he didnt do anything in the first place it wouldnt have been a problem.

Along with Fisty's comment it was in the C grade. The incident was provced but doesnt excuse any actions played out by anyone. As i commented in the C3 thread the guy that went down should not be playing if his condition restricts any form of contact. I admire the bloke for his pasion to play but if you get open handed in the chest and face by someone and get knocked out hitting the ground in the way he did well???? No official actually incharge of the game saw what had occured. It was only the Seaton goal umpire that said he saw something. God knows how seeing that he was behind the whole thing. Plus i think he was cooked anyway. He was dark at the fact he was told he couldnt play for us as we had full sides (believe it or not) on a couple of occasions and cracked it and went across to Seaton. Yet he still hasnt played. Sour grapes, maybe. But again it doesnt excuse anyting that happened and i made sure that was the message at the breaks. I agree with you 110% about the umpires interpretations. They should be based on the rules and laws set out by SAAFL not their own and in some instances on AFL rules as i heard one umpire. Julia Gillards love child last week made a call and blateantly said tahts what happened last night so whats the difference (making relevance to the Carlton and Freo game) WTF!

Marshall's call was dissapointing but again thats the way the ball bounced and we should move on.

All 18 Hawks will be droped back on the "great" AT, without doubt  I'd be surprised if he's even spectating after what your pres had to say. You named him last year when you played us, and omitted Laslett...we didn't fool for it then and we won't this time either.
