NORTH HAVEN NOW NEED TO MAKE THE BIGGEST CALL FOR THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB.
HAVE SEEN SO MANY TIMES BEFORE A CLUB TAKE THE EASY OPTION AND APPOINT SOMEONE FROM WITHIN TO HELP SAVE THE CLUB FOR THE SHORT TERM.
NEVER WORKS WELL JUST HIDES THE DECAY.
THE CLUB NEEDS TO SIT DOWN AND LOOK AT IT AS A BUSINESS DECISION AND HOW THEY THINK THEIR BUSINESS CAN FIRST SURVIVE AND THEN PROSPER
THEY NEED TO ANNILISE WHAT HAVE BEEN THEIR STRENGHTHS AND WEAKNESS AND HOW THEY CAN TURN THEIR MINUSES INTO PLUSES.
TO AIM AT GETTING A COACH THAT WILL PULL IN PLAYERS,EVEN IF IT WAS EARLIER IS NOT THE ANSWER BUT ANOTHER SHORT TERM SOLUTION.
GET A COACH WHO IS PREPAIRED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
WORK WITH THE CLUB
WORK WITH THE PLAYERS
WORK WITH THE JUNIORS
WORK WITH THE SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS
HAS A THICK SKIN AND NOT SCARED OF HARD WORK
WHO IS PREPAIRED TO DEFEND THE CLUB AND PLAYERS WITH EVERYTHING HE HAS

THEIR ARE COACHES AVAILABLE STILL OUT THEIR AVAILABLE WHO FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS DIDNT GET PICKED UP
FIND THE RIGHT ONE AND MOVE AHEAD
SHORT TERM PAIN FOR LONG TERM GAIN WILL SET THE CLUB UP FOR THE FUTURE
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

You make some good points and there is no doubt that this could be a make or break decision. To be fair it probably isn't the most attractive position at the moment, we onhly won 2 games last year and are widely tipped to finish bottom, which I can completely understand but we do have the advantage of having the only vacant coaching position in the league and that might help us.

There is a lot to be gained and if the majority of the assessments of us a correct there is little to lose, so it should be an interesting week.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

Nothing is withdrawn.

A disclaimer on the bottom of a post does not give u exception from being quizzed about your posts. I don't "represent" the Plympton Football Club, but i'll answer any question on here within reason regarding my opinion which i willingly post on here for all to see.

If your not happy for someone to criteque your posts, don't post. But don't go out and say elizabeth will be premiers, oh but my views arent that of the club so i've got immunity from copping a bit for my opinions.

thats all i'll say on the matter, by request of FC.

by the way:
Plympton will win the flag, go through undefeated, hibberd will kick 120 goals, we'll win every game by at least 10 goals, and go back to back next year in div4.

**Note: These are not the thoughts of the club, so apparently i'm allowed to say it, and not cop anything about it. Cheers.[/quote]

good question TT.
IM NOT DOING ANYTHING THIS SEASON.
AFTER THREE YEARS AT THE LIONS,AND WITH THE REPUTATION THAT COMES WITH THAT,FOUND IT HARD TO GET A GIG.
WAS ASKED TO APPLY FOR A COUPLE OF POSITIONS AND DID WELL.GOT ONE WHICH WAS OVER TURNED BY THE COMMITTEE AND ONE IN WHICH I WAS TOLD ONE NIGHT I HAD AND THEN SEEN IT ANNOUNCED THAT SOMEONE ELSE GOT THE JOB.
WAS TOLD THE REASON WHEN I ENQUIRED BOTH TIMES AND TOLD THE SAME STORY.
WAS SUGGESTED TO ME TO TAKE TIME OFF SO PEOPLE COULD FORGET.
THATS WHERE IM AT THE MOMENT.
LEARNING ALOT BY MISTAKES IN THE PAST AND LOOKING AT AS MANY CLUBS AS POSSIBLE TO LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
WOULD I BE INTERESTED.
ALWAYS INTERESTED IN A CHALLENGE

not for the reason that has been blogged but it doesnt matter anyway
the history and reputation of the club is now on the line and i sincerly hope the club makes the right choice for everyone concerned
have a feeling the committee wont but i do wish you all the best for the season and seasons to come
interesting reading that their was only one applicant when the job first come up
that cant be true for i know someone who applied but was not even asked let enough interviewed

The comments bout the Plympton dogs was not put on this forum. A couple of players actually told me to my face how good they were going to be. But i guess Symo would be keeping a lid on the side down at the kennel.
Being Symos last year of coaching as he quit last year only to do a backflip and take the reigns again anything than a grand final would be a failure and the club will again struggle to keep players as i have heard from a reliable source. No div 4 players will leave ie Deer, Raneburg,Smith, Hibberd,Veenvliet,Roach,Vanderhaak.
Good luck to the dogs should be an interesting year.

Not sure who posted that there was only one applicant but I know 3 people personally that applied and didn't get it so I think someone is a bit confused

North Haven committee seems to have made a lot of bad decisions over the past 5 years regarding both coaches & recruits. When you appoint a coach he must first be a bloke that has respect in the football community AND be a good bloke. Players and supporters won't put up with a coach - no matter how good he might be - if he isn't a good bloke with strong disciplines. Have a look at their past few coaches. I've watched enough amateur footy matches since coming to the city and the club has had poor leadership in terms of discipline. Secondly, the recruits over the same period haven't been loyal or disciplined. Stay for a year, take the cash and go - this doesn't help players, coaches or supporters yet while those players are there they are treated like "top" players. Except they weren't- in fact most led the charge when you talk about lack of discipline. I hope the club can make the right choice - but just maybe the committee needs to ask for outside help in choosing the next coach - someone who is not connected to the club but knows what is required to make a club improve. The committee hasn't a great record in choosing players or coaches.

In my time there no coach was ever connected to the club prior to their appointment so I don't know where this perception is coming from for eg. Griffo - Pt Districts, Stokes - Gaza ?, OB - Fitzroy, Sods - Westies and that's a span over 10 years. As far as the commitee picking the wrong players and coaches, 9 out 10 finals campaigns in the past 10 season speaks for itself. Players come and go, some more quickly than others, loyalty is just a word and it's all about the coin for alot of players in this modern day football environment. Unfortunately

Is Griffo a possibility to pick up the reigns as a caretaker coach of sorts for this year whilst a new long term coach is sought? or Steve Christie?

My experience is that to many committees have their own personal agendas, that are not neccessarily in the best interest of the club as a whole.
