ANYWAY back in the real world found out tonight that OB will not be coaching us this year, so the rumors are true and have been confirmed. He works for an mob called Instyle Pergolas and they are moving up/expanding to Queensland. He has put off the job for 9 weeks but now he has decided take it and will be moving up there with his family in the next couple of weeks. It's a disappointing result for our football club after getting him back on board over the summer. I was very much looking forward to playing under OB this season, but now were just gonna have to move on. Buckets will take over for the time being. Will find out more on what the clubs going to do about this situation on Tuesday.

Not good news for you blokes, especially this close to round 1. I know OB was really looking forward to the year ahead, knew it was not going to be easy but was keen to have a crack at things.

Well in the middle of it all we had a great night at training tonight, we had the most numbers we've had on the track over the pre season and we're looking good going into round 1. As for a replacement, i guess we'll find out more next week as the club looks at a replacement

Massive week for the club, trying too get a squad organized, a skipper and a coach. Buckets will be in the mix I would think.

Two Wells got up by about 2 goals, both teams started scrappy but as the game started to open up both sides showed plenty of run. Good tough hit out for both of the clubs involved.

Edit: Game ended up on a bit of a downer with Jacob Hart (Two Wells) going down with a knee injury, i was told all he heard was a "crack and a snap" so not good news at all.

Who's Stats? was counting the goals we gave away in the back half and although you boys kicked a few early it was pretty even for the rest of the night. But hey in the end its a trial game and noone really cares about the scores now do they

Geoff 'Buckets' Lawson is our B grade coach DJ. He'll take over for the time being and is a chance of getting the job, but I reckon the club will look at other options and advertise for a new coach to step in. If we do get a new coach it has to be a North Haven person or someone that knows the club and the people in it because we cannot have an outsider come and take the job, last year showed that it wouldn't work and in a short amount of time it's going to be even harder. As I said we'll find out more over the next week.

TDK, that may be one of the reasons you guys struggle if everyone down there has the same attitude. If someone from outside is considered good enough to do the job well, then why preclude them because "there not a NH person"?
Clubs can only progress with new ideas, just because last season's coach didn't work, why close the book on an outsider? Maybe the selection committee need to take some of the blame for making the wrong choice or if you only had one applicant, you have to ask the question, "why"!

I just want the club to make the right call. Last year was so hard on everyone, so we must move forward and not go back there ever again. If we get a coach that knows the club well it will be so much better for everyone at the club both on and off the field.

The Red Dogs. Everyone knows they have choked and played three preliminary finals in a row so we won’t go into that too much. For mine, I actually don’t think they choked, but were just simply only the third best side in the comp in each of those years. Personally, this side has been missing one vital ingredient the last three seasons which is a vital match winner. Everyone loves big Jimmy Smith, and rightly so as he is a gun and they have Ryan Muir controlling the back line, but these guys aren’t proven gun game changing on-ballers. Their midfield has not been elite and they have suffered for it, as when the going gets tough, no-one stands up and takes the game by the scruff of the neck. There is no doubt they are a very good even football team, but that isn’t always enough in big finals. Despite this, the red dogs deserve the tag of premiership favourite, as talk has trickled from down south that they have quietly recruited well, and if one of those recruits includes just one gun onballer, that will be the ingredient needed to finally get out of this division.

Last Season: Preliminary Final (Westminster)

2010 Predicted Finish: Premier

Fair assesment mate of the dogs mate and good call on picking them premiers but ill go one step further and predict that they will go through the year undefeated their recruits are top shelf and now they have an abundance of depth as well that should get tongues wagging

great write up d5 expert...
one week at a time fido..... looking a bit far ahead me thinks....

Woodubelieve you must be a coach youv e got every cliche in the book, this site is about giving opinions and I gave mine if im wrong big deal I would rather get people talking on here than using the "one week at a time" line its all a bit of fun at the end of the day!

I have heard the plympton dogs have picked up quite a few boys. Dion Hibberd(how mant times does he want to go back to Plympton) but the boy can play, div 5 prob will kick 100 goals. Russell Veenvliet another good player but if the team starts losing will just give up and do his own thing. Vanderhaak from PHOS apparently a gun but doesnt like working hard very handy though. Daniel Roach from all reports is gona tear it up in div 5. From reports Jim Smith Mark Mousley Tony Raneberg are all overseas and not in the best shape. I heard the beer looks much better than a football.
There hasnt been as much talk of a premiership from the boys out at plympton as last year they talked themselves up only to crumble in the prelim again. They did say they were going to be undefated and by 2012 be in div 2
They have also lost a couple of players ie Daniel Bartlett
