Cheers for the heads up. Good to hear gg have fantastic facilities. Always makes the trip worthwhile if ya get a win and have good facilities to have a beer to celebrate. Especially since it's a fair ride to get there lol

Good win by portlands b grade on Saturday. Smashing gg who beat seaton the week before. That would be portlands best win for s while. Looks like they are finally getting some depth or did gg have a shocker

Not sure who Derham is but if he played SANFL (League, Reserves or Under 18's) last week and that club has the bye the following week you can't go back to your Amateur club and play - it can only happen if he didn't play anywhere the week proceeding the bye (i.e through injury) - Pooraka might want to check the rules out before 2:15pm Saturday!

are you sure this is the rule, for as long as i can remember it was up to the league club the player is playing for, ie if the magpies allow him to play for pooraka there is no dramas, he played for poorakas u/18 last sunday after playing 18s at port the previous day

Def a rule, we had a young lad play Centrals U/18 and they couldnt play the next week when they had the bye

Thats interesting, i know there have been clubs that have played Magpies players on the week of the bye (after playing the week before). Can someone get a definate ruling on it.

Rule 16.3 He was entitled to play - NO permit required.

yep u/18's are free reign on the bye.
anyone else you need a permit. generally the request comes from the sanfl club looking to get the guy a game. you will struggle 9/10 times if not.

Having sought further clarification from SAAFL today, under ruling 16.4, a permit is required if a lad played under 18's for an SANFL club the week before the bye. According to SAAFL, Stefan last played under 18's for the Roosters on 2nd July, therefore no permit required last week.

This weeks draw seems to be one where the top 5 are pretty much earmarked for the wins. Top 5 VS bottom 5. This week for us is a danger game and the local Derby always ends up a cracker. Match of the round is an understatement. Mascara getting off from the tribunal is a big win. Patruno, Burton (sorry not sure on others only know the good ones) are big targets or Patruno to go back again like he was last time round. Seaton do have some quality players but feel our lads just have too much to be catered for.
Big week, the top 4 with a loss for us could see us go 4th by 5pm Saturday or keep us top with the next 2-3 having the same wins. Great close match ups for the finals with the 5 being so close.
I think the only close one this week could be GG if they can keep their form against Mitcham.

Well done to Fletcher Doherty for another rubbish Article. Thankless task, yes, but get some bloody tact.

Apparently Scott Camporeale and dubious free kicks got us across the line. Suck a lemon mate.

Not too mention the fact that each and every weeki we get 3 lines and Pembroke get a good chat. One sided and under written. Things like that shouldnt be written in a right up. Especially seeing that the league want consistency and no ump bashing. Good work Fletch.

When we were 6 and 1 - he wrote 'who can stop the lions' and has given us absolutely donuts since, yet managed to talk up Pembroke who have won 2 of their last 12.

Obviously a completely unbiased article...not like he was playing for Pembroke or anything!

Why isn't the budget the official publication??? Decent write ups plus plenty of junk to pass the time. Someone told me and don't quote me but over 10,000 readers. All the hard work is done for them..........

You are reading the wrong publication gentlemen. The Footy Budget "Talking Amateurs" is easily the best read IMO and no i am not one of the 41 writers who actually know something about your respective clubs. Im not saying all the writers in Sports beat are awful but there are a couple of Divisions that i have stopped reading.
