Would it come down to points for? I really have no idea.

Percentages are rounded. Just go back a couple of decimal places to separate them.

ML = 49.2501
BOS = 49.2465

So just for carey's humour Q, BOS is rounded up and Lakers are rounded down, so Lakers have a few cents more so they win. :lol: :lol: The league just goes to the nearest carey, you need to know the format yourself as to get it right.

One of Mitchell Park's favourite sons played a milestone game on the weekend.

Nat McDonnell suited up and managed to savour a big upset victory over WOS for his 250th. Such is his humility, few people at the club even knew about it and Nat made a deliberate effort to keep it under wraps. Despite having the capability to either play much higher or perhaps even for coin, he has always maintained there is no other club for him and has stuck with the Lion's through the occasional thick and sadly more frequent very thin times. Has played under duress over the last few seasons as the years catch up with him and injuries and defenders fists take their toll, but still commands the oppositions best backman.

Despite his appearance, bad tattoos and on field demeanor (easily our most passionate) Nat is a very genteel sort of bloke off the field. A doting father and husband, and great friend, he is guy that I reckon most players think about at Mitchell Park when they are looking for inspiration.

Further to that and on a personal note, there is absolutely no way I would be playing this year if Nat hadn't looked me directly in the eye and explicitly asked me to. I was a fair bit disillusioned with football after injuring my knee and not being able to do what I used to (not that much to begin with), Nat McDonnell was the sole person who had the capacity to make me motivated to play again. On the flipside of that I was absolutely gutted to hear that I had disappointed him greatly by not playing in our Div 7 flag. No coach, team mate, girlfriend, boss or really anyone could have made me play again, only Nat, such is the esteem I and everyone he meets (perhaps not the opposition :))) holds him in.

Whilst a bit rough around the edges and prone to the odd nudie run, Nat is one of the finest individuals I have ever met. A true champion of Mitchell Park.

great effort and a great post...

my short time at the den Nat and his brother were very welcoming and had one of the funnier nights i've ever had a shenannigans (can't spell it :lol:) cause of them. I met some great people there and those brothers certainly stand out, also so does Joey, the weekly's and wal. Good club and i very much enjoyed my year there...

congratulations Nat and goodluck for the rest of the year =D>

I shudder to think where the club would be without Joe, the McDonnell's, the Weekley's and the Logan's. That's the beating heart right there.

We do need more help though. Which is why I have been super impressed with the "new" brigade of leaders - Harro, Potters, Pete and an army of pimply upstarts who have the club going along OK.

If you're talking about Matt Francis, yes, he has joined Flinders Uni.

We wish him all the best.

Looks like 6 wins could get you relegated or into the 5 by season end. Rosewater, CLG and then a raffle going on results from recent weeks where even WOS have dropped 2 against lower teams.

We have a tough fortnight with Rosewater then CLG.

alot has been already said about Nat and morell has put it all in perspective
even though he has had his fair share of set backs he has always been that passionate about his club that he would be able to lift others up and beyond their normal abilities and capabilities
i have been involved in footy for over 35 years as a player or coach, and have been to the highest level i could go and also to the lowest
i have had the privledge to be assosiated with alot of great leaders nut by far the best captain i have been assosiated with is the pride of the den,NAT
what makes him that good is that not only is he great at what he does on the field and off but he is a great family man and father
like Nat,his twin brother liuke i also hold and rate highly, both as sportsmen and as men
i wish them both the best in their future endeavours and i am sure they will be around along time in footy with coaching a natural progression
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

I will get pasted again morell for this, especially from Jetters, but Nat looked me in the eye also, at the end of 2010 following a meeting with him Lukey and Joey, he said to me you are going to coach us next year and I want a handskake on it. I said no, unless you guys are prepared to work hard and win a flag, I won't come if your not. He looked in to my eyes and said, you just coach, we'll do the rest I promise you that. The rest is history. My favourite mate at the Den and my premiership captain. I will live forever with that , well done big fella you are the No 1 Lion. :)

You don't make it real hard. You just couldn't make this shit up. Arrogance masked as humility.

I can't believe you haven't had any book deals or movie offers come your way; what a heroic, 'against the odds' story... :roll:

Nevertheless, credit to a few guys who are involved in the MP juniors, it is the healthiest I've seen it and starting to move in a positive direction.

I think the point yankman was trying to make, Jetters, was that Nat has a power of personality to make people do things because of his incredibly selfless attitude and the high regard that he is held in.

Now quit ruining our Nat tribute thread.

But I agree RE our juniors. Absolutely amazing to see. My girlfriend and I went to watch them at Kenilworth on a Saturday night and we were both blown away. One of the main volunteers there is Mark "Sambo" Sansome but there are plenty of others. The parents, coordinators and coaches are doing a great job.

If we can keep the momentum and keep investing in the juniors, hopefully the success will come further up in the future.

In his defence, I think a few froffies had been had ;)

Good on him and congratulations Nat.
