Henely found it very difficult to compete in Div 6 as a C grade side. Didn't help that over half the team reitred after the 2004 premiership. Div 6 is quite a step up from Div 7 in terms of fitness etc....

- Not sure what is happening down at Owl Park but they are playing good footy. I'm tipping them in an upset at home by 17 points
- SHOC C grade struggling so Flinders Uni by 35 points
- Uni away from home by 61 points
- Paralowie i know are keen to avenge their defeat the first time around these guys played so i'm tipping them to fire up. Roos by 39 points
- Tough task for St Paul's but they may have turned the corner after last weeks win. Henley at home is always hard but if we wanna play finals have to beat these sides. Saints by 4 points with Novosel to kick the winner after the siren :)

about 14 goals off in that last tip ey riddler...:)

saturday was such a great game especially by the few young guys who turned the corner in the A's
and also for a few old heads who finally made their A grade debut, it was also great to pull a few party tricks out in the last quater aswell

pfft!! both above comments are pi##week, if you want to glory seek in a suppose called easy league just for a rotation system for your higher grades then you should be ASHAMED!!!!!!! everyone knows you play footy to win and achieve higher rankings(oh except in JOEYS), so maybe you should ask a/league if they can start a div 12 league again and you could could rotate your bunnies in there. i cant believe the above comments i have read from your so called elite level clubs you should all be demoted :axe:

The main point being here is that Henley/Athelstone etc play their C/D grades in DIV 7! Most of these guys are either older ex A/B-graders who don't take it as seriously anymore or blokes who just wanna have a bit of a kick and a catch with their mates. The fact that they can match it with established A grade sides is a credit to themselves, there is no need to bag them for doing so.
And I hear Paralowie weren't very gracious in victory on the weekend against the Raggies C grade, go play their A grade and see how well you travel. Maybe this attitude is why Paralowie have been in DIV 7 for so long...

From what I hear they were disgraceful, led by their coach. They were disgraceful when they lost in Round 2 at our ground as well.

Disgraceful was the umpiring in round two if you were on our end of it you would have had something to say also. Not sure what happened on the weekend but the scoreboard showed that without the umps helping you kick goals this time you couldn't match it with us...

Honestly if you win the Div 7 Grand Final, that means that you are good enough to play in Div 6,
in my opinion the top 4 teams at the moment could go up to div 6 and not be disgraced.
Its time that teams who are C and D grades to stop pussy footing around and just go up, bloody hell who would want to stay in Div 7 forever.
Comments like 'our A and B grade take our players' come on guys teams woth only the 2 grades still get injuries they still have to put 42 players out each weekend........
Enough said go up if you play in the Grand Final

Adelaide University v Henley
St Paul's College OS v Athelstone
Sacred Heart OC v SMOSH West Lakes
Mitchell Park v Paralowie
Flinders University v Angle Vale

- Henley still missing too many players and i expect Uni to be to strong on their home deck. Blacks by 24 points
- St Paul's will be confident after a good win last week and will be looking to knock off the raggies on our deck who no doubt have already marked this down as a win for them. Should be a good, tough game. Saints by 16 points
- SHOC only because it's at home. 29 points
- Paralowie too strong all round the park. Roos by 64 points
- Fair road trip for The Owls but they are playing some really good footy and have too much firepower. Owls by 45 points

ffs how many times are lower divisions gunna hear the same old crap that our A-grade is only playing a C-grade opposition? the fact is as we only have 2 teams and you have 4 does not mean the level is lopsided, why say we should play ur A-grade when they are many divisions higher than us because of their ability(you idiot)! try looking at the numbers for each division that is clearly the rating level, you know div 6 plays div 6 sides, div 7 plays div 7 sides and so on, the alphabet only comes into the factor for club levels.
saying paralowie was disgraceful in victory on the weekend is a bit of sour grapes i think, if you remember when you beat us at your ground earlier this year your blokes and crowd stood around like he-men expecting us to sook, but we didnt and remembering from past history you should know not to try and take us on,we walk the walk as well as talk the talk!!!! :butthead:
you say ur lower sides are made up of ex a/b grade players not so serious anymore?? so why do you drop players in the latter part of seasons to get your lower sides into finals, then beg to a/league to stay down, that seems like you just try to win flags for youe ex a/b graders coz they couldnt get them at the higher level(better known as sandbagging-ask adel uni).
please can you raggy boys take a certain female spokesperson from your club on your next footy trip to air out her frustrations
as she clearly is not a happy person, complaining about everything from the start of a game to the end,and was the same at your ground, lifes 2 short to be this stressed and its not good for her health.
last of all there is a Super Rules League for the not so serious players just wanting a kick and a catch!!

cheers bradman for supporting our pokie free environment and we will remain pokie free when new club is open. =D>

bad things go to the ones who talk crap

quote]

couple of questions - what's wrong with ex a and b grade players wishing to stay involved and playing if they can longer commit the time necessary to hold their spot higher? this doesn't always happen to older players, sometimes the younger work on training nights - is it then fair that they push somebody out who's doing the two/three nights a week?

super league is only for the over 35's.

heartily sick of this uni shite - having been involved with them for 20 years i know that the club plays within the amateur league rules - start off
a -players can only come down if the higher grades are in the finals if they're not picked in that higher grade side. therefore they're probably not that great because if the higher side is knocked out players can't go down. coaches will always pick their best 22 in finals according to who's done the work.
b - to qualify you still have to have played a minimum number of games down low and then still have played the majority in that lower grade
c - just because we can field many competitive teams doesn't mean that we drop players from the a's and b's - perhaps the social recruitment network is more effective for us than other clubs. you can't underestimate the power of knowing that almost all players are the same age and having presentations at a pub in which girls flock to
d - uni don't just rely on a geographic location - this is both a negative and a positive but means that players come from all areas. in my c1 team i've got players from mildura, nuriootpa, o'halloran hill, melbourne among others
e - a vast number of past players generally means that if teams are short, past players are willing to don the vee again. these may have actually played higher than the grade they're filling in for
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much
