Which Birdwood boys played and in particular, which one carved up?[/quote]

Not sure on a couple of the names. Tom Matoga got heaps of the ball and is preety hard at it. Just tried to be a bit too cute with his disposal especially this early in the season. The others that played was a guy named John (not sure of his last name) and another called Stiffy. Both went ok. Matt Jones is the other Birdwood guy but he's playing 2morrow

those recruits you mentioned in a previous post, did they play? how did they look?

3 of the Birdwood boys played. 1 of them carved up. The rest are playing 2morrow. Both games conssist of a combination of A and B graders. Just giving everyone a run. All of our recruits have sighned except 1. We have signed 1 guy from Smithfield but we r still trying 2 get a signiture from his brother. Will b a very handy pickup if we can get him

its not the bond brothers from smithfield by any chance is it?

Nup Hann. Weve got James. Still hopeful of getting Luke
Pffft, no real big pick ups there. Was hopin 4 the Bonds to go

Thats alright. Entitled 2 your own opinion. We rate the both preety highly. James Hann should be a very goog key position player for us. Probably suited at CHF but weve picked up Simon Gillet from IngleFarm and he will probably end up playing there.

We were only playing a div 1 res side and by the looks of both trials the standard in that grade isnt as good as what i thought it would be. Tom won alot of hard balls during the game but his skills seem to let him down. If he gets that part of his game right, he could be good for us

with all due respect mate from what i hear golden grove are walk up top 2 side the've picked up heaps from modbury that come with there coach and now a few of the ' old school ' blokes have that hunger back i work with a couple of the golden grove boys and let me tell you there pretty confident of going well with out being cocky about it either so i expect them to go well.
i just put you guys bottom as well for 1 thing some 1 has to finish there and i heard u guys have lost your core A grade players from last year and have alot of kids this year they may well be good kids but my time in footy has taught me that kids take time thats all mate but for valleys sake i hope you guys go well .

All good Carey, on last years results we dont deserve to be rated a chance this year by many people. However weve only lost our CHB from last year and another tall from our A grade. Our Full forward from 2005 has returned which should give us a better target this year. Plus weve picked up some good signings from Ingle Farm, Brahma Lodge, Smithfield and Birdwood and may be getting 1 more that played at Lobethel.

We dont deserve to be rated a chance but I think we will suprise a few people this year.
got to agree the valleys will make finals in both grades, coach astute they have got their f/f back.Who cares if he is hungry what team wouldnt take a 70+ F/F in their team also picked up some very handy players from other clubs.Golden Grove arent the premiership favs everyone is spruiking

the way uni are set up is that the Cs wont go higher than 6 maybe a stint in 5 one day but its just the way the club is. there is hardly any emphasis on the Cgrade at all. they are part of the 'lower grades' where 6 teams share an oval (park10) to train with players all over the place. A's and Bs on Uni #1.
