As I said mate he is a loss.. He is a fantastic footballer and will be missed but the club couldn't match them. We now move on and with the new blokes we have recruited to the club we focus on 2012. The club is excited about how determined the boys are to make amends to a disappointing finish to 2011 and by the condition a few boys have returned to training in 2012 could be an exciting year for Mitcham.

Most Hawks play for the love, thats why they are where they are. Good luck Hollywood.

The blokes that have left good luck to them, and the club will always welcome them back. The guys are excited about 2012 we have a strong nucleus of A grade players and guys pushing for a spot in the A's. We feel with the new guys that have trained and the new guys that are coming out when we restart we can play finals.

I think div 3 will be a great div this year. Smosh, Seaton, Mitcham will be around the mark and with PNU and Athelstone coming down and Salisbury and Kilburn who are rumoured to have spent abit of coin coming up the div will be exciting.
Pooraka I feel will be competitive along with CBC, and Pembroke could be a dark horse. Can't wait for the season to start

I did hear Margatich was heading off to the spencer gulf league but there has been rumours of that the last few years....Do you know of any ins? If not, looks like a tough year coming up for the dolphins!

Have know bout alby and Jess for a while now... Have been waiting for u lads to catch wind of it.

Boof rivers (father of jarrad melb dees) is coaching south Augusta in the Sgl for its centenary year and also 10 yrs since it last one a flag who Boof rivers was coaching and both alby and Jess were playing in. What can u do????

Benny p and wilber from my knowledge will b taking a step back with age and family the reasoning. We didn't see much of Wilber last year but Benny will b a big loss.

On Keeno I did hear something bout being OS but it would only b for a week or so IF it is during the season. He has a reasonable job with a financial institution that he wouldn't want to ruin.

On tommy Payne.... Injuries related to the aerota.

Will b a tough year for the dolphins but take them lightly at ur own peril.
It takes real courage to wear PURPLE!!!!!

Spoke to Rowey this morning and am super pleased to confirm that he will be staying put at the fortress of Falconry next year so i would assume his bass guitarist Paul Lowe will also remain at the club after a very interupted 2011 with injury, travel and male modelling  . Hopefully this confirmation will help the traffic from Birdwood head in our direction and not the other way as may of happened should AR have headed back up North east road.
My mail is that a few fringe A graders have left the club to seek new challenges in Div 1 and 2 and other leagues which i guess happens to most clubs when they go down from Div 2 - Div 3. It will be interesting to see how the club fares this year as young Coach Garry McIntosh very much implemented a youth policy last year and that dozen or so teenagers with a season of Div 2 experience under their belt should be able to ensure PNU finds improvement from within its own club junior ranks. This is of course despite the fact that several of their jnrs in recent times are now AFL listed and sh*tloads are on SANFL lists and F#ck me if a half a dozen arent at ROCS. In fairness a few of them may have gone to school at Rostrevor however or perhaps it was just the lure of Tim Hart :o

One thing the Falcons may miss in 2012 is that tough in and under dour left footed midfielder (no not because i retired =)) ) It has been clear since his departure that the void left by little legs has been one hard to fill. Some talk being thrown around that the club wants to fly in LL each week from Texas, HOLLYWOOD, Melbourne or wherever his acting carreer has him based ATM :)

Funny that the 2 you were worried about going to Birdwood aren't your juniors...

Thats correct but Mr Rowett was a Div 1 team of the Year rep in 2010 and i think he was runner up in the last 2 B and Fs and is in our Top 3 players. He is an outstanding talent and loosing him and a guy like him would have been a horrible loss for the club. No he wasnt a junior but in some games last year we had more than 3/4 of the team come via the juniors. Regardless of their roots no club would want to lose a player of that calibre or a bloke of that character.

I actually bumped into Lowey yesterday afternoon. He is rather stocky now compared to the last time i saw him. would be hard to catch with his pace i would say.
he explained that there was talk of moving back to birdwood or up to meningie but the decision was made to remain at PNU. Apparently Rowett having finished with 2 bnf 1 runner up and one 3rd in his 4 year stint at pnu thought he may need a change and the financial encentive was alluring him to some extra travel, however lowey reckons he talked some sense into him to stay as lowey was gonna play a full season this year. Good news for PNU.

I didnt realise that they played their juniors at hope valley.
apparently was quite successful group of juniors at hope valley with them winning a couple of flags. i would say had all the boys from there juniors stayed at the valley they mnay be in a higher division.

Well i didnt mention him first so i cant be blamed but yes i was told last night that Louis Martin will not be with the club in 2012 which is a big loss. Former div 2 association medallist. It is only January and there is still a fair bit of time before we truly know exactly how the squad is looking. He would deff be our biggest out though at this stage. There are obviously a few ins as well but until trials start a lot of people wont completely commit potentially.
There will be a BIG influx of talented Irishmen to the club this year but its very difficult to know how their transition from the round ball to sherrin will go.

Mr john O'leary played the last 6 games in a grade for us WW. halfway through the year he figured out the stab pass. is a pretty handy kick and was solid on the half back flank for us. if he's anything to go by i'd say you will end up with some solid b graders. allowing for the fact that you are div 3 and we are div 6.

Id expect 2 of them too spend most of the year in the A,s with another 2 being fringe A graders. Another 3 or 4 of them will play B,s for most of the year and a few in the Cs as they wont be able to train and prefer beer to running. Should be interesting to see them develop and naturally they should generally improve as the year carries on.
