any word on the new recruits at flinders park. Heard the same old rumours, glenn freeborn, nick pecsh, Darren Holland.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I know he's from EP originally, but I wouldn't think Gatto would be on nothing. The figure I heard was a lot more than that, with a certain training clause worked in. Lane and Donnelly wouldn't be playing for free either I don't think.

I've also heard from the Bridgewater faithful that Gatto is getting some coin to play at EP. Fair enough. He has played league football and was more than serviceable for Bridgewater this season. As for Donnelly without doubt was the biggest thug going around in the HFL this season. Not going to help the culture at Eastern Park. Is a sniper. Other Div 3 sides beware!!!!

Igs started training about a week or so ago with about 35 guys, which is early for us. Most of the recruiting has been done from the school, so it would be a bit much to expect any more of than a few of those kids to be anything more than fringers in year one, and mostly learning the ropes in Bs. Taking a low profile and see how we go when it starts, and also if we can rope in a few boys over summer.

as a casual observer of the club and from what i ubderstand shaun is getting around 1/10 of what he recieved in the country last year. he was having back problems and with a new one on the way just wanted to be involved in a club where he could potentially play in a few premierships and have some fun with the mates he grew up with. He seems like the kind of bloke that just wants to have a good time and enjoy his footy (just from the chat we had). As for laney and donolly you may find that they are there for the coach and the coach may have called a few favours in to get these blokes at the club. Don't think they will be getting any more than a few drink cards for saturday night. How sure are people that adrian wilson will be at kilburn next year???

Iggs problem is that they cannot get the same side on the park more than 2 weeks in a row. Quality players like Hart & Moran who play key positions miss games regularly due to work commitments and they have a few guys who refuse to carry the slightest of niggles into games. Guys like A.Alessandrini, Rolfe & Silvestri need to learn to play with a little bit of pain or rub a bit of heat into a niggle. Too much is left to guys like Frinsdorf & Tyson to carry the slack. I would think this would be very unsettling and make it almost impossible for a side to carry any momentum into their next game.

Ted- I think you are being a bit rough on Rolfe. He played one week last season with a quad injury- could only kick on his left (including shots on goal). Reinjured his quad the next week at training and missed 5 more games.

I agree with your assessment on Silvestri though- when he is firing, Igs are usually going well. You just need all the stars to line up for it to happen.

Yeah I know I'm being harsh on Rolfe Orts. He had a lot of bad luck this year. Don't think he'd missed more than a couple of games before this season. I just wanted to stir him and a few of the other iggies boys up.
