Heard the same thing, but also there will be 2 other Broadview Legends playing as well.

Is the SAAFL site correct in that Portland have forfeited against Athelstone tomorrow?

correct
Athelstone were advised Thursday night.
Bit disappointing and unfortunate for a two reasons a) they don't get a game this week, and b) they have the bye next week, so its a two week break.
On the plus side though players get a rest mid season.

Certainly didn't and who were the other 2 legends you mention, perhaps after today he should suit up for the A Grade

If it was them their names weren't on the team sheet according to sporting pulse or did they play under another name????

Gepps Cross won't be, advised our club last night and the league today that they were forfeiting.

I am interested on @Marbles reasoning as to why forefits still occur when C Graders only play other C Graders instead of "finlely tuned elite athletes"

It's almost like who C Grades play isn't of huge relevance.

Not the week you asked the question in Bench Coach, but Eastern Park have forfeited against Athelstone this week. Strange decision given they were still in with a chance, albeit a long shot, of making the 5. Can any one at EP shed any light on the reason? This gives Athelstone a 3 week break leading into the finals - not the best preparation.

Are all other games going ahead as planned?

that's bizarre, as EP are playing Pulteney in the A and B grade, so it's not like they need to stack to keep their finals spot.

In answer to my own questions - no

1) Eastern Park with a very slim chance forfeited to Athelstone
2) Portland forfeited to Seaton Ramblers, and
3) Broadview had the Fitzroy forfeit,
so only two games played.

Disappointing end to the season for the competition as a whole.

I see Athelstone won their way into their second straight Grand Final in C2, only losing 1 game for the year.
What are their intentions for next year?
Are they going to elect to go down to C3, to keep those trophy’s coming in?

Tight game between Broadview and Athelstone yesterday with the raggies coming out on top. Back to Back for the Raggies.
