So spending money on upgrading a facility that will bring in enough income to reduce club calls so you don't have to pay as much (or not at all) to play footy is a waste of money?

Is it close to the Torrens? What about a foot bridge?

How will upgrading Thebby help North Haven?

Not saying it wont, just wondering what flow on effect we will get from more seats and carparks at Thebby?

Somebody from a lower grade club asked the Execs that very same question at Thebarton on Saturday at the big press conference and got no answer ;)

Yeah I cant see the SAAFL scrapping club registration fees because Thebbys better. They'll probably charge us more so they can maintain the bigger stadium.

How will upgrading Thebby bring in extra income than what is being generated at present?

At a guess it would see the return of major events at Thebby, ie: concerts etc

As well as extra income from conferences, private events.

With the 4th changeroom you'd see more higher level footy being played there

In saying that, I also doubt very much we would see calls scrapped altogether.

The short of it is, the more revenue the league can make from outside sources, the less they will ask from the clubs.

Mind you, someone from the exec would have a better answer to that question. 8)

Concerts? you are kidding right?

Does it currently have any conferences or private events apart from SAAFL related events?

Clearly you're not old enough to remember that concerts were held at Thebby back in the day ;)

I won't hazard a guess at the rest of the question - If anyone else has any legit questions, I'll get JK or Grant to answer them and post them here if you like.

Generating Revenue during summer. Not a lot of cash flow in the off season and with Adelaide downsizing its options for outdoor concert venues not a silly idea.

With the new facilities it can market itself as an alternative venue for those types of events.

When did the SAAFL cease being a not for profit organisation?
Just out of interest is Thebarton council owned or SAAFL owned?

SAAFL lease it from the West Torrens Council.

Does that mean the amount the SAAFL will have to pay for the lease increases along with the upgrades? If not straight away, but when the lease needs to be renewed?
