Yep Sunday but pretty sure you can't play for 2 clubs, but would be best to check with both leagues

Would have thought North Haven would play against Portland and Port District?
Would also be good to see Henley placed in that middle, more western suburb league...

I'm not sure if we'll have an U/18s, they've been a disaster the last three seasons. IMO we shouldn't have one and what's the go with having us in that league?? We should be in the middle one!

Even if they don't win a game, an U18's side is very important imo. Provide a strong transition from juniors to seniors. If a club doesn't have an U18's, there's more of a chance of players (moving up from U16's...) moving to another club who does have a U18's side or quitting altogether.

Wouldn't it be smarter to put Nth Haven in the middle group with other western suburb clubs to even out the comps & avoid having the bye?

Would have thought it would be easier to have North Haven, Henley and Lockleys in the group along with Port District, Woody Sth, Seaton, SMOSH and Portland. That would make 8 teams, no bye and would encourage kids to play, lack of travel for kids and their parents to a game, which would help them all get there to play at 3pm. The same sort of principal could happen with teams North and South of the city. Would have thought this would be relatively simple to do. without too much disruption and hopefully still will.

Be quite difficult getting it right to suit all.

There 4 teams in western league that prob more regarded as northern teams - broadview hopevalley ingle farm and payneham. That makes 14 northern sides

meanwhile theres 14 teams remaining & who knows about forfeits to come

it looks to me as they just put a ruler on the map and sliding it south if ur team is most northerly then it is next to fill the league from the top down

so yeah on this basis having north haven in the southern league is one big mystery?

Heard Portland has appointed Wayne Green as U18 coach for 2012. Must have had some quality applications. Did he explain his afternoon cleaning job. Couldn't make training or help out at senior training at IF, so good luck with that, but he's already told you how good he is...... =))

Can't see Gepps Cross on the lists above. Their Under 18's have been training for a while now.

Once again Lockleys have had to withdraw, amazing that from a squad of 29 U16's only 4 came back out to training!

North Haven definitely wont be fielding an U/18 team this year. They have gone with 4 senior sides with the idea that C grade will be a young side with a mix of experience, and the others who just want a to have a kick in the D grade.
Personally i think this is a good idea as it allows the guys who are still serious about footy to train and play each week, where as the U/18 in previous years has been an effort to get a team on the park each week. Sundays at 3 O'clock has to be the worst time to get a 17/18 yr old keen to do anything let alone try and get 18 of them in the one place.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.
