Thought a mention to SMOSH was in order. They rang the club last week asking to change our game to the 12:15 slot (as we play at home and B's and A's away) so we could all get over and support our higher grades. Great thought and we happily accepted. When your C grade play the same time as your higher grades it is dissapointing not to be able to get behind and support your other team mates.

I'm sure we'd be keen to play an early game against you boys in rd 15 on your deck marbles. Do you think you boys would be keen for an early one then too? If so, I'll get my people to speak to your people....

Dont do it Marbles - we dont want LL with us when we watch the A's

Some people may have noted that we now have a coffee machine at a BBQ - I wonder which person on the committee thought that one up? ;)

Not too sure if the club would be too keen mate after i was informed of the decision made by the PAOC heads to knock us back on a triple header. Various reasons were given that didnt make any sense and were quite short to our officials. Dont think it will happen mate based on the past experience but cheers for the offer though.

Same here mate. Im all for clubs trying to boost takings and have an allround spectator attendance at any games especially a Triple header or time slot improvement to benefit the higher grades in your own club. Maybe better forward palnning for next year (if we are still in the same grade however unlikely) we can have both rounds however far apart can be triple headers to benefit both clubs.

paoc is not that bad effected as they still have a D grade so still have 2 games. which should bring in some sort of revenue, granted not as big as a triple header
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Correct - we have a home game every week with 2 teams and bring out the bbq etc

The problem is the away games where sometimes the C's and D's play at different grounds

Some clubs may not agree to a triple header because we wont - its really a logistical problem and although it sounds selfish, you have to remember we dont have our own clubrooms so the weekly matchday revenue is very important to us. Thus, we undertand if the opposition says no because we did.

Not sure why that doesn't make sense?

Things might change with our 5th team coming in next year

Again we fell short to another top 5 side. It shows how we are still not up to the standard when it realy counts. I take nothing away from our guys but another week where we didnt start the game the same time ur opponents did. 6 goals to nothing in the first and then only 2 goals down in the second (our 5 goals to smosh's 1. which was kicked with 2 seconds to go and it did hurt). We took it right up to them until 7-8 minuets to go when they kicked 2 majors in a row and we didnt peg them back enough or in time. We have basically lost 3-4 games under 2 kicks now which has certainly put a downer on our season. In saying that i have no reservations saying that we should be higher than what we are if we had the commitment during the week instead of just 2-3 quarters of footy on the weekend.

Repeating myself but it happened again last week. Right up until 10 minuets to go the last 1/4. Both teams equal. Biggest lead of the match was 5 points. To the hills credit they dug deep and finished it off. I did have thoughts that we would be chasing numbers all day but we stood strong most of the way. Great coaching from the Hills when they put 3-4 guys back when we were going with the breeze (massive as it was atleast 4-6 goals). This stopped our attempts at going long and forced as wider than we liked and the run form their loose guys was good. OUr guys that were loose didnt do the same as Hills which was dissapointing. With the pressure on being 2 goals down with a little to go some of our lads tried to hard to push through the lines and tried to take on too many at once which caused big turn overs thus creating the final result. It realy comes down to getting on the track during the week and going through what the problems are and how we can fix them. Say what you like that its only C grade but when you have blokes that are playing in this grade that can eactually play higher up but dont due to outside commitments and not being able to come to trainig. Each and every player in the lower grades puts pressure on the guys the next grade up creating better performance for the team with each player trying to keep their spot. We cant do this as the numbers on the track are low and the side taking a hit each and every week doesnt help.
We can get another win this year we do deserve it but we continue to fall short. Only 2 wins on the board, one of these from forfeit is not a good feeling. This week will be rather difficult against PAOC but the others are winnable as we lost to 2 of the last 3 by 3 points and then 4 goals. Fingers crossed.

Might find that the Mitcham FC will get a please explain from the SAAFL!!!!!

You cannot forfeit your 3rd side and still play your 4th side. Goodwood did it back in 1996.
They forfeited their C Grade against us but played their D Grade. Thier C grade were almost bottom but their D Grade were 3rd. They swapped players around in hope of a flag and were slapped over the wrist with a wet bus ticket by the SAAFL and told not to do it again. The Rules and Regs were changed accordingly at seasons end.
The outcome will be interesting???????????

A dissapointing finish to the game on Saturday. We beet Iggies earlier in the year with a depleated side. We had similar numbers and Iggies ahd no one on the bench. We had support after the first 1/4 and they had 4 or 5 return from the B grade. I am concerned when there is no official delegate at the game. No interchange steward and time keeper. The interchange gate was not visible and not marked with hats etc.
I spoke with the umpires at the start of the game namely the opposition supplied ump and said that if at any stage there is undisciplin and or back chat let me know. I have a colourfull past with this umpire who reported me for saying "well done ump your goal" from a stupid free kick last year. Which went to the tribunal with extra comments he wanted to throw in to make him look like the victim. It was all thrown out with the SAAFL chair telling him to be like an iced coffee and harden the FUIC up.
All day he never protected the man over the ball on both sides but his predetermined agnst against us kicked in and would permanently stay 30-40 meters away from the play. Our ump was no saint either. The opposition ump told me at the start of the game taht he and the other ump need to talk and keep the game under control. I explained that should be the feeling for each and every week not just now. Not once did they talk and both were very ordinary. For both sides just more so against us as he would call stupid things from 50 meters way when the other ump is in control.
I know it's C3 but its hard to keep blokes motivated to come each and every week and get dealt that crap. The oppositon ump was told directly smarten up his act or he shouldnt umpire. This is trhe exact resaon in the Budget every Thursday we read the concerns for upper grades. It should start in the lower grades where they are learning their way. Either stick to the rules you are given or dont umpire.
That didnt loose us the game just wanted to say what I saw. We let ourselves down with worrying about what everyone else was doing instead of ourselves. When you dont come to training and 60% of your disposals are no more than 3 feet of the ground you are going to get beaten.
