Uni had been in div 6 for quite some years up until their disastrous 2007 campaign. One W Legrand would have to be a certainty for the Div 7R medal. Just give it to him now and save everyone else the trouble. Their D grade will make the grand final quite easily in Div 7R

in 2007, uni's 4th side played c1 and the 6th side played 6 reserves with the 5th side playing c3. Uni's c grade were not good but lost 95% of its players from 2006 to 2007; this with the a's and b's losing 55% meant that the sides were just not good enough but that many young players got experience which they can only benefit from in playing against sides that were better quality.
good c1 teams would be able to hold their own in div 7 going on the fact that division 1 c grade sides are usually pretty good. they may not win the flag but i reckon they'd be pushing for the finals. this year's c1 side for uni had four ex- a grade players playing (ages 35-39), speed may disappear but nous doesn't while goodwood had around the same. perhaps trials may give an inkling.
several years ago (2000), wingfield, ovingham etc were in division 8 and uni's then 5th side won the flag - I'd assume that the standard would have improved since then though.

I have heard a rumour that the B grade coach from Winfield Royals has approached the club about coaching the Eagles A grade side next season and may have most of the B grade following him.

Also does anyone know how i can change my name from Kaurna as no longer with the club

Don't think you can mate unless you register again under another name.

Where you going now? What is happening with Kaurna? They haven't even lodged a side yet for next season.

as for Kaurna i think they are in the process of signing a new coach and players before they register. If they cant field a team than i dont think they will be around next season

well if the rumours are true about the wingfield royals coach going to kaurna and he does bring playres than might be able to have an A and B grade side. If not than i reckon drop down to a C grade and see how that goes

If it is true they would be at least more competitive than last year but if the side is mainly Wingfield b graders i'd still expect them to struggle against other teams A grades.

wingfield are trying to go anywhere, rumor has it kauna would not come to party with them on move there, rumour also has it approched north pines to come here, but we will wait and see what happens should be interesting thats 20+ players for one club only problem would be if they all wanted to play in the one team and not do the right thing by new club and play players were there club needs them to play A's B's or C's.

Have to agree with this. Henley, while being very up and down in recent years, have finshed one spot out of finals in the past 2 years and have won premeirships in Div 7 & 8 against maninly A grade teams - TTG and Uni have also had their good seasons. Wouldd be very interesting to see how some of the strong Div 1 club's C grade teams would go in Div 7 - think they may surprise a few punters. The biggest problem with C grade teams is their inability to field a consistent side, relying so much on player movements and availability up the grades. Would be more even in the C1 comp as all teams have the same issues...

St Paul's have set up an U/18 side in the SAAFL which should hopefully set us up nicely for the future!

That's good news for your club.
So they could play for the school Saturday, and as past of the 'old Scholars' club on Sunday, is that right?
