Footy has a great way of leveling people.

Great post.

Despite not playing CBC at CBC in 2009 because of injury that was the most embrassing day of football I've probably been involved in, we got absolutely smashed and their crowd laughed at us and gave sh!t it to us all day. I was very glad PAOC won the GF that year, they smashed us too but from memory at least they respected us, not laughing us off the field or giving us lip.

Assuming that both of your clubs have remained in and around div 4 and 5 over those four years. How do you measure success?
Stayed in Div 3 for 3 years without clubrooms or money, we will rebuild and get back. will you?????
Cant remember the Northaven crowd ever being too accommodating to us, Also remember getting beaten by 20 goals under lights in a last quarter that went for 35 minutes.
Goes both ways, we will take it on the chin and go down to Div 5 if that's the case, and will continue to receive support from our feral crowd that we love.

My post is just a reply to Catches post about the CBC being quite mouthy, not at all feral from what I can remember when we last played there, which was a forgettable day in a forgettable year. I guess like all footy clubs once your team starts winning games and starts becoming successful their supporters start to become more confident and start to enjoy watching their team belt teams that are struggling and like to give them sh!t about it, that's footy. You guys have been semi successful remaining in Div 3 for 3 years and now youre in a bit of a lull, clubs go through it all the time.

My comment was actually based on the players from that season.
Most arrogant team I have ever played against.
I've played in premiership teams and wooden spoons... Didn't change how I respected the opposition.

And... I'm sure it wasn't every player in the team. Just affected the way I've thought of CBC since.
All for a passionate home crowd. Good luck rebuilding and getting back.

$$$ Cha-ching! Didn't N.Bassett play for Pulteney a few years ago and spit the dummy when he wasn't selected for a final?

Yep. Played the bare minimum games to qualify and missed the 2nd semi, would have played the GF as well if an unnamed player who must have thought it was them to be dropped had a word to the leadership group.

Gamble paid off in the end Pulteney got their flag and Bassett went on to get one as a coach at Norwood.

Cha-Ching that they will probably make and stacks more on the day! Will pull a crowd and should be a great day. Well done to the HV people behind the scenes to get this going.

Of course there would be coin involved, might not be upfront but who cares if it is or isn't. It is great publicity for the club and will attract people involved at the club and people not involved at the club if advertised right.

Not sure about your last line FC :)

I reckon Scott was a PNU junior to be honest.

I think the club will be doing some fundraising with donations going to his diabetes charity but other than that neither are benefiting personally from it.

That I can assure you because I think i've spent the whole club budget on tape this year :( ;)
