I'll give you one thing Red Rocket your very quick mate. You posted this before some I'd even summoned the whole playing group to the club.

Basically mate by the looks of things there was an incident we I can't say to much about at the moment that the club is extremely disappointed about and will leave no stone unturned to get to the bottom of and when this has occurred he/she will feel the full brunt of the penalty. In my time there I have never seen the president this furious.

By "Old Scholars slush fund" I meant, any or all assistance from the Schools those football clubs are tied to, be it financial, player stocks, grounds, facilities etc.

I know some of the hoighty toighty upper division types get massive amounts of leg ups. And so be it, good luck to them.

Did no one at MP go to School???.... and far as player stocks go..... I would think "players" pretty well make up there mind where they want to go and are neither obligated or tied to anything.......Clearance pages might give you a clue....

We went, but non-one graduated. Haha, nah, lots of very clever people at Parkies, both past and current.

I am just saying that a club called "Sacred Heart Old Scholars" are probably going to have a fair influx of people committing each year due to the inherent ties to the school. I also don't think "Scotch Old Scholars" are ever going to be short of strapping for lack of funds.

Understand that some of the Old Scholar teams down with us don't always have the same luxuries afforded to them as others do.

Worrying times down at Lockleys at the moment. Council have just slapped a "do not enter" on the door. They were doing an assessment for solar panels and found that the roof is structurally not sound and have denied us access until the engineers can sort something out. We can still access the change-rooms as they are not a part of the main structure. Hopefully this can be sorted out real soon because as you all know our clubs rely on our bar & canteen trading to survive. Lucky its the long weekend and have no games on, hopefully something is sorted before next week as we are having a past premiership teams reunion when we play Rosewater.

When was the club built? Probably has the same trusses as the collapsed Riverside Golf Club. This could be mega bucks to fix

Maybe the club should be looking into getting some sort of temporary transportable building to run a canteen/bar out of. This could take weeks sort out.

Mitchell Park have a very strict anti drugs policy.

We find ways, including raising money for one Brad Steele to have his entire upper body waxed:

Personally think he needs to harden up a little. Look closely and he needed to hold hands. Naw.

Yes Yank its fair to say there is a little bit of stuff going on that is distracting us from the most important thing and that is improving as a football side. But hopefully 1 person actions don't derail what we are trying to achieve. And that is to turn our season around.

We've been playing some very good passages of football we just need to maintain it for longer periods and we will start to see some better results. Saying that I honestly believe this is the best standard of div 6 footy I've seen in my time in football.

Perfectly good clubrooms/facilities on the Western Side, Vacant....just move in, till the Council sought it out. The Council owns and rules both facilities.

And surely the Council as The Landlord is responsible for the conditions of the Roof and as Paying Tennants the LFC should be looked after, any relocation costs or potential loss of trade etc?

I hope it all works out and with a minimum of fuss.

Not sure of Lockley's arrangements but I would have thought it would be up to the club to maintain the facilities. It's not a residential tenancy where what you say might be able to be negotiated.
But, yeah, moving across the oval would be a good option if it can be arranged.

Yeah agreed. Best I have seen as well. Any of CLG, Rosies, Mawson Lakes, BOS and WOS would have had rights on the flag in the previous years Mitchell Park have been in Div 6, with Lockleys, Units, ourselves and the Adelaide Uni side that beat us having enough of a chance to play in the 5 as well.

There have probably been more dominant sides but that would be a reflection of the depth rather than their actual quality or otherwise.

I was President there in the 90's ;) - Council replaced Guttering, Roofing and structural stuff then....I realise 20 years is a long time ago, but I expect the Terms of the lease with Council would not have changed too much. Hopefully they can sought it out, one way or another before the Big Clash in Round 10. I know we always enjoy a game against The Doggies.
