With all the pre match build up surrounding this game, I headed out to Riddle Reserve for a look. It certainly had a big game appeal with traffic restrictions on Mawson Lakes Boulevard to cope with the influx of traffic. The Channel 7 news helicopter was flying overhead early and Shaun Holland kept the kids happy signing plenty of autographs before the game. In the end the game didn't live up to the hype with Mawson Lakes running out comfortable winners by 9 goals.
Just got home and Interestin summery Fuzz. But Shaun Holland had a day he'd much rather forget as a coah and most defiantly a player.
But credit where credit is due Mawson Lakes and The Riddler were very good today. Great structures that at times looked fantastic and even when they didn't come off they were there in numbers and worked for each other and it ended up coming up Mawsons.
1st 1/4 a very even contest Mawsons kicking the first 2 Units trying somthing differant with Abdulla up forward had he kicked striaght may of been a totally different story but bad kicking is bad football but i cant single the guy out after all he took 5 marks inside 50 in the first 1/4.
Our 2nd 1/4 was the worst i've seen by any side i've played in for years enough said. At half time there were plenty of home truths spoken.
2nd half was a very tight hard faught contest to alot of CU blokes credit who got told at hlaf time in no uncertain terms. CU finishing in front on the second half but the damage was done by the simple fact CU refused to man up in the first half.
Well done Mawsons a top 5 side without doubt.
Its gets no easier for the Units facing Trinity coming off a loss

i think woody sth with clifford back in will be just too strong at home for the lakers
i think trinity will account for the units by about 5 goals. think that trinity are tracking quite well at the moment even after the loss to blackfriars. CU will be angry with the way they performed no doubt and i expect a much stronger performance but i think that the lions will have too much class.
The lions after a fantastic pre season fell in a hole last week. skills failed under pressure which i consdier one of our strengths and i expect us to rectify that this weekend. Ingle farm will be looking for their new recruits to gel and offer a much better team performace.
After seeing Houghton up close last week i think that if thier key players can stay injury free they will win most gamkes at home, their ground suits them very well because they are a very tall side. BOS play their home ground as well as the raiders play theirs, the one that may find the raiders out this year is a fast running side on a long wide oval. BOS to get over the line by arounf 30 points.Lockleys surprised me last week getting so close to woody sth and have risen substantially up my perdicted ladder. Uni also impressed me with the 12 goal win. If ML and woody sth were playing anyone else this may be the match of the round. should be an absolute cracker and i'd expect plenty of fast skillful football. think i went with lockleys in my tip so i'll stick with them.
