However one of the first questions asked at the tribunal is if you’re entering a plea and if so what.

Case 1 - not guilty, reporter no show, can’t deal with the case, dismissed.
Case 2 - guilty, reporter no show, player has already admitted guilt so must be dealt with.

Don’t blame the system, blame the misrepresentation from your club.

Ah yep makes sense then... I am aware he pleaded guilty before the hearing and went in and apologised to the player and team after the game..

Main point being is that the tribunal applied a sanction on one of the hearings and threw the other one out (presumably because the victim didn't show up, at least this is what I was told).

Why should a victim have to take time out of his personal life to wait and attend a tribunal hearing that could take up to 4 hours to be heard.

The reporting umpire needs to attend along with the reported player, the player or the umpire can request a statement from the "victim" if he feels a need to.

Very rarely it's a victim vs offender case, that's generally if there has been a club induced investigation.

As you said in another post, time to move on and concentrate on making the 5, although you'd rather have Woody out there too, Garner is a fair replacement to have back in his original colours, done a full circle the lad, he must like blue as apart from Paskeville he has played for Smithfield, Eastern Park, South Gawler and now the Units, best of luck to him after a nasty injury last season.

Did he play for Gumeracha in between Central United and Smithfield?

He was an important player on Saturday that is for sure.. a very handy inclusion! The lad can definitely kick a footy

Not sure on Gums..

Interesting, I wonder if the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Salisbury North have created a loophole in what most would think is a rigid rule.

Doesn't the rule state though if you haven't played a game for "club A" in the current year, you can still get cleared after June 30 to "club B"?

Doesn't approval have to be granted from both the club he's leaving, and also the club he left earlier in the year i.e. Smithfield?

Hope Smithfield deny it

3.7.2 - No transfer shall be lodged after 30 June in a given year.

Surely approval was obtained before he played on the weekend, if not and they lose the game we will need a defibrillator sent to Cossi

SPOS have a tricky draw to finish the season, and that battle for 5th spot looks a ripper! Tea Tree Gully you'd think are a lock for 4th regardless, should collect minimum one more win for the season vs Mitchell Park and would head in favourites against the mountain men.

Mawson Lakes should win their last two, if they can snatch a win over Houghton in a fortnight at home, that would lock away 5th I would think, as the Units play two sides currently in the 5 (Marion / SPOS), but should win their other two. Finishing with FU could be critical to their finals hopes.

Should be a good finish to the year.

Sullies have stitched up top spot and will have the week off.

Looks like the second place decider will probably hinge on SPOS vs Marion. Winner of that game to secure a home Qualifying Final.

TTG, Lakes and CU to fight out for a spot in an Elimination Final. Lakes have a pretty soft run home after this week. TTG with the toughest draw, could be a danger of slipping out.

HDFC would need to win all four to make the 5 and rely on Lakes, CU dropping 3 games in the run home.
