also i know there was a bit of talk about uni playing their B grade side in div 6 cos of the time on. anyone know if this was the case yesterday? i expected the result to be a lot closer tbh and just wondered if this was the reason why.

Looking at Lockleys side they will be pushing for that 5th spot and Woody south still not at full strength, Clifford is worth a few goals..

Uni had some classy players yesterday that looked like they should be playing higher for sure. Truth is though we were just not good enough yesterday and Uni were very good. Rhigas has a good side there, well drilled and super fit. We need to re group, and move forward. Plenty of positives in the second half, but we all know there's plenty of work for us to do.

Was definitely Uni's C grade playing - most have done the full pre-season with the a and b grade. Some are new and some from last year's lower grades. The vast majority will play c grade (div 6) all year with there being quite a few out injured up higher (as per usual).
6 Reserves game ended in quite funny scenes - scoreboard showed Uni winning by a point. Uni had trailed all day and got in front in the last minute of the game and sang the song with gusto only to discover that the goal umpires scorecards had the game as a draw...

They've still got a good side. Gave up four goals early in the first quarter and it was probably the difference in the end. Would think the players would be mindful of starting well next week.

Any chance you blokes could get you s... together and get the results in before the deadline? I know your in the sticks but courier pidgeons went out decades ago. 7 goals from dubious free kicks was a telling stat - the umpire with the keg never got near the play - frustrating!!

There you go again, you truly are a quality poster. I thought you'd make light work of Houghton anyway bloozebrother what with them being only a one man team and all ;)

No Rayner either, fingers crossed neither will be available this week either :ympray:

Saw the game and Houghton played some great hard contested footy. Well done to the Raiders and their captain who took a few hard hits!

Lockleys were very good yesterday. They run the footy very well, and they are exceptionally well structured from kick outs at both ends. Also had a couple of very handy players running around in the 2's so they'll do very well this year I reckon.
