Congratulations to SHOC. Our blokes tried their hearts out, but the pace and skill level of SHOC was too good for us. Interesting listening to a couple of our senior players who have been heavily involved at Division 1 Clubs that they felt SHOC were equal in ability to that of a Top 5 Div 1 Reserves Club yesterday. One of those senior players, Mark Polkinghorne announced his retirement on Saturday, and I know the popular figure was held in high regard at our club in this his only season with us. We're hopeful Polky will stick around in some capacity. In a positive for the Mawson Lakes Football Club, with all 3 sides making the finals this season, we're lucky enough to have all 3 Coaches signed up for 2012. 'A' grade coach Geoff Riddle has been fantastic for us, in getting our numbers up for 3 sides, bringing in quality recruits, and do what was seeming an eternity, putting us into Division 6. Geoff is under no illusion that Division 6 will be a cakewalk for us, and we will need to improve in all areas to again be a competitive force. The Mawson Lakes Football Club will complete proceedings for season 2011 at this Friday Nights Presentation and we look forward to 2012 to the challenge of Division 6 capped with the reuniting of some old rivalries.

Your lads did try hard on saturday warrior, they were just beaten by a better side. SHOC's defence was where they won it, to hold a team to 37 points i think it was is a fantastic effort. they looked a lot more polished going forward as well and when you have such a big target at FF you will always be hard to stop.

Thanks to Mawson Lakes and Modbury for two good hit-outs. The sportsmanship from both clubs was second to none.

Winning the grand final by 10+ goals should equate to that team going up a division.

Even given the C Grade conundrum, it would be preposterous if they didn't.

Also winning the Div7R Grand Final pretty easy and having there E grade in the grand final shows the club has the depth to go up.
If they don't it would be wrong. IMO

SHOC will definitely go up and look forward to the challenge. There would be no debate. I love how other clubs have sources at other clubs.
