I'm starting to get the impression they do more harm than good. What's the point of trying to work on game plans with only a third of the side playing. We've copped a few injuries in our trials this season, a couple completely unnecessary.

I reckon that was the thinking of Barb's the last two years, as we didn't play a trial game either year. This weekend will be our first under him as coach and it's our only competitive hitout of the preseason.

Why are you changing winning form then, two years and no trials. Results = 2 flags, maybe LM and Westminster are right, trials are over rated!

Cricket fees, or club membership????

Best you stick to worrying about Hope Valley, or is it Central united (as you seem to know alot)

Stand by my infomation, can't charge club membership only football membership. I didn't even metion that you asked Central United to pay $1500 and they could have Bellman. Or that you have asked him to play the first 6 rounds and hope he wants to keep playing. :)

Must be hard getting second hand infomation. Maybe it might pay you to ring Ian himself and get him to answer where he wants to play in 2010. Brahma Lodge just want the best for Ian and want Ian to make a decision about his football and what HE wants. No P***ing in his pocket, just what he wants.
As for the two year contract. There is only one player that has signed a contract of more than 1 year and that is shane brown. Contract for life, no get out clause. Ian signed a new 1 year deal with the club late last year.

This is the last from Brahma Lodge on the Ian bellman saga.

i actually dont think a player signing a contract means they cant swap clubs. I know a couple years back, a player from uraidla moved to athelstone, signed a contract (big $$$) and moved back to uri. to be fair, uri had a magistrate involved in getting him back though.

and julian leak from heccies signed to gepps cross a couple years back but still ended up playing at heccies. think you will find loop holes in most amateur contracts.

i think you can sign for as many years you want but as long as fees are paid from the previous year you can go anywhere you want the following year, i dont think you can be held.
if it was a club contract he could walk....if it was a contract sanctioned by SANFL, he more than likely will have to stay or sit out.

only my understanding of it

Well, 1 flag and 1 GF appearance, but I get your point.

We started pretty slow last year... comment after round 1 was that we would be heading straight back down. But we had 7 new faces in the Round 1 team to the Premiership team of the year before and that may have contributed. This year we will have several new faces again, so one hit out should be ideal, as long as we don't get any long term injuries.

I think you'll find LM that WHUFC was referring to 10K for the soccer coach, not alluding to Smithfield paying 10k for Jossa.

Tom Jenkins, I remember playing with him at EPFC in the B's. He would have been 16-17, good skills, good bloke but like you said, lacks the dedication. However, does support a great football team. How long has he been out there for LM?

No matter what anyone says theres always gonna be a good amount money floating around D5 this year. Everyone denies it, for example I asked my cousin who plays at Henley if he got money or does he know of anyone else that does and he strongly denied it. Also my mum cleans Pt Districts vice captain's house and she asked him the same question and like my cousin he denied it. I know they play div 1 but who ever you are and wherever you come from you're always gonna deny it or pretend you don't know about money around your club when your on this forum.

I find it hilarious and rather contradictory that people form clubs accusing elizabeth and smithfield of paying exorbitant amounts of money to players are also the same people who on game day wantonly comment on the socio-economic problems and lower housing prices associated with the northern suburbs but yet we are cash rich for players i dont think we can be both poor and rich????? it doesnt make sense to me
