Steve Matchett only a last minute fill in replacement didnt really want to do it but decided to help the club out of a tight spot.

gary has had a very successful coaching career . coaching 2 div 1 a grade premierships in the last 6 years

state amatuer coach...also im sure he has coached tailem bend to many premierships. was asked be the curent west adelaide coach to join him.

whilst his term at westies was cut short he had already set up many recruits to join next year.

dogwatcher come on mate i thought u were a creditable journo... maybe ur trying out for today tonight...

Yes Peachy is a great coach, he joined Tailem Bend in 92 and won them their first flag for 18 years, all up he won 4 flags in about 7 years. Certainly wouldn't disgrace himself at league level IMO. Whilst i'm sure Tailem would love to see him back to the club (hes moved on, and prob considers himself above country footy these days), the club would be eternally grateful for the way he brought in a winning mentality to the club.

The Gaza job was readvertised last Sunday. That would be at least 3 times they have advertised, I would think Ando is on the outer.

Must have done a reasonable job, only missed the finals by a game. Wouldnt have helped him having A graders tooling around in the magoos either.

well said GWW in regards to peachy, do you have anything to do with tailem bend?

i also here that mannum is after corey smelts services, i here that the big fella had a discussion with them 2 weeks ago.

if i must say it would be disappointing to see corey leave tailem bend and go to another club in the same league!

there are few ppl in this forum who have played under gary peach

also during his time at tailem and phos he has recruited many league players

to name a few glenn sandford, adrian pope( who may say has been one of the best SAAFL players of recent times), corey smelt, and quite a few more...

no one can question the passion and commitment gRY gives to any side he is invovled. Phos's gain this year will be westies lost considering the time and effort that he put in this year for next year . i hope the guy westies they have chosen has the same skill and contacts in recruiting and not be a guy who can build a good website

Peachy was a firm but fair coach Id say. Good on and off the field!! Dunno if there are many coaches going around the amateur League that have 2 div 1 premierships to their name.

I guess he did have decent players in 2000 & 2002. haha

all good until the last 3 games of the year where they only needed to win 1 game and lost all 3. A graders in the 2s well that happens at all clubs

Sorry dinga but Peachy didnt recruit Popey to PHOSC. Popey was a student at Plympton High and went out to the club to play with his mates. In his first season in 97 he mainly played B Grade under Duane Massey and didnt make it into the 1997 GF side, he was still out with Norwood during that year. In 98 when he finished with Norwood he played the entire season in A Grade, winning the B&F. He is one the best players to pull ona Phantoms jumper. Cheers Dinga

Yeah Peachy brought some great players to Tailem Bend, including Ben Roehrich, as well as Smelty as you mentioned, but also Jason McIntosh (ex Glenelg), who was a brilliant and dynamic country footballer. The guy was a star in the RMFL but only played 15 games or so (was recruited half way into the 93 season) before moving up to Queensland at the end of that season.

Former Glenelg player Michael Hare returning to play football in Adelaide after a season with Berri.

I hear Goodwood are the team, anyone else know anything?
