Are you allowed to have finals games at your ground now?

To the boys from Portland. Congratulations on the way you played out the year

The last 4 weeks must have been very tough:
Rnd 15 20 players and another 65 point loss
    Rnd 16 21 players and a 10 goal loss
Rnd 17 by all reports starting with 14 or 15 players and finishing with 12 and a 266 point loss and played in great spirit
Rnd 18 19 players – and one list in the opening 5 minutes and a 168pt loss

On Saturday there were no punches thrown, no instance of push me/shove you and only a couple of odd words thrown about. The game was played in good spirits from start to end. I think it was number 17 that went down in the 2nd quarter. He took a while to get up, but rather than go off with a crook knee he toughed it out setting a great example for what looked to be a very young team.

Satchel you mentioned some rivalry – plenty of respect as well shown by the way the Athelstone boys gave Portland a clap after the game for the way they played on the game.

With you’re A’s siting 2nd in Div 2 its only a matter of time before the B’s and C’s follow to the top. From the fact that there have been no negative comments on the forum here you have been going in about it the right way. Stick with it. Well done.

Thanks for the nice words about our C's.
I started the season off there and we looked like we may have been a chance to sneak into the finals. Injuries, work and some players leaving saw the numbers dwindle but well done to Goudis who coached the side as there was no one else for sticking at it and making sure the boys were still around got a game every week.
I know Goudis and Mick are already planning on how they can improve for next season.
Good luck to all the sides in the finals.

HV and Old Iggies for mine.

Very envious of Plympton this season. To this date in in the A and B grades your the best side ive seen / played against, and in the C grade you're a serious threat too. Cant wait for saturday- will be a ripping contest.
