Good appointments
Hope they are for the right reasons and not to just justify the amount of money being paid

Brett has recently retired from the North Adelaide in the SANFL and Ross captained Barossa District Football Club in 2010 and was also selected in the BL&G Association Side.

We look forward to the experience they bring to our club and the assistance they will provide to Sean Jackson in Season 2011."

Nothing gets past you Demon :D

You only wanted us all to look at the website so we had to look at your ugly mug in the premiership photo!! ;) Nice ground that was taken at too, just quietly! :D

Yep nice grass coverage for a winter sport

All about looking ahead as far as coaching goes. It's good to also get some experience for our very young squad.

Flinders Park do this sort of thing every 3-4 years. Go out and get some players win a flag go up a div struggle for a year or to and just miss relegation then finally get relegated before completing this cycle once again. They are more of a yoyo then we are. And they spend alot more $$.

So Flinders Park are heavily recruiting big names.

What about some of the other recruits like Sid Visser?

Will the points system allow him to get a game with all of the other newbies?

i would be surprised if he didnt get a game, i know he didnt swap clubs to play div 3R thats for sure not saying its a bad standard but sid's an A grade player no doubt about it. interesting to seee if this happens to a few clubs this year and if blokes leave after a few rounds because they cant be fit into the A grade under the new points system

I agree he is good enough.

But not all the lads can play if points factor in.

And if you're getting dollars and are told to play B grade it wouldn't go down too well.

That to me is how to ruin a club culture.

Just seems like FP have ALOT of new players...

they may have residue(points)from 2010 as well to take into account..thurstans and ohara at 4 christie at 3 = 11..maybe 1-3 points residual..visser at 1..do the maths..thats without signing any other players..one more sanfl or 3 pointer and they are at the limit before any residual or 1 point players are added..they could easily have very good "B" grade players and how long will they cop that? :)

yeah exactly, i know sid went to flinders park to play with and against a better quality of player. if it was me i wouldnt be happy to be told i had to play B grade for no other reason than the club recruited too many players.

May well be wrong but i cant see to many sides having trouble with the points system, if it is 15 points each
team are allocated, for eg Flinders park with the inclusions of Ohara and Christie would only be 7 points if they were to get Thurstans are there has been talk of that they would go to 11 points that still leaves 4 which can be used on any bloke who has been playing A grade footy at another club blokes like visser
Were has Marbles gone and who is Satchel

Alot of talk about Flinders recruiting a lot of players, but you'll find there are only 4-5 new guys. A fair few interviews have been conducted no doubt, but the club has been very careful on who they select in order to keep within the points and strengthen their weaknesses from previous years.

I think alot of players will be frustrated across the divisions this year when seeking to play for another club, if you don't get in quick there's a big chance you'll get turned away..
