If he's half as good a coach as he is a player, it'll be a very good appointment.

Is he playing as well FS?

Thats the plan Pag. He has already set out a program and training schedule that he thinks will get the best out of the lads.
He will also make the tough calls which is what the teams needs
. The bloke has been in the SANFL system and is highly professional oh and he 'absolutely detests' loosing doesnt matter if its table tennis or on the footy field.

Yeah he is going to play and have a few assistants on the sidelines helping out.

Tough calls not been made recently? As a new coach who has a player relationship with the group, this would need to be handled very carefully, i have seen both sides of the coin at our club. If it works its great, if it doesn't, well its a long way back to Div 1.

Matts leadership cannot be questioned and the players will soon find out that he wants to win and wants MFC in div 1. The boys are pretty keen to make up for missed opportunities from last year as well.

Its the worst kept secret isn't it?

Article in todays paper on magarey medal night states Anderson is coach of Hallett Cove.

Yes it did say that but you will find Hallet Cove were beaten by Reynella in the prelim on Sunday & anytime now Greg Anderson will announce his resignation to Cove then be appointed coach of Gepps Cross.

With Dave LeMire resigning, Old Iggies have appointed Joe Pedler as coach. Any players wanting a change and join a club on the rise are invited to contact the club through www.oifc.com.au.

I was told that pedler was the coach this season and Lemire was simply just on the team sheet?
Was pedler assistant this season or was LeMire in charge all along??

Pedler was assistant, he took over for a month when Lemire went overseas i think. Pretty sure next year Pedler will have Ant Sheehan and Tommy Carr as his helpers

Dave LeMire was the coach this year, but Pedler took over coaching duties when LeMire missed games through being overseas with work and injury (he broke numerous ribs and punctured a lung in a B grade game earlier in the year). Ant Sheehan was the A grade runner during the year as well, so would be good to have both he and Tom Carr involved again next year.

If our players were all as good as you've suggested, why was our season so rubbish?

Fair enough you can have bad games here and there, but a bad season???????
