Good to see Ovies arn't getting a head of them selves!!

yeah as a current player i think the big thing is that we'll still be around in 09 and beyond, even if we don't win the flag this year. we're on our way to gettin bigger and better for the future..

Gee, funny you say that.. Werent you the blogger a few pages back bragging how no1 will beat Modbury?? Ya see, down at the Cattery we know where we're at.. Up at Modbury your yet to realise where your really at. Last time you played the Cats, the cats were missing 9 players including 2 association medalists and fell asleep in the last. Dont forget, that day Modbury had only booted 6 goals till 3 quarter time.. Dont forget..

Never said we were unbeatable, all i said was that Modbury were not playing there best footy yet, like your saying about the cats, which is probs true in both cases. and never said 'looks like another flag coming'!!!
Hopefully we get a few players back this week as the A's and B's have taken a few over the last few weeks cos the injures up higher! Have to wait and see on sat mate, should be a good game! GF preview even?

Adelaide Uni 15.9.99 def Payneham 6.7.43... SAAFL ladder will be fixed today

so have Unis fallen away or what? they don't seem to be playing as well in the last few weeks as what they were early... since their loss to Modbury they have dropped off the boil a bit...

PNU shouldn't have gotten that close really if Unis are a finals contender....

the past two weeks for PNU were R10 Ovies by 129, R11 PHOS by 119...

is this a case of higher grade injuries?

nope, nearing end of exams and the c2 uni side comes from roseworthy - depends on how many went home post end of exams for holidays. must remember there was also a shocking breeze on saturday and if blows across park 10 play will get stuck on the big wings and flanks.

The 99 Ovingham team lost their first final to Adl Uni at Walkerville by 19 pts and got knocked out.I was captain that year.Finn was right about the lack of dicipline.TTG won the flag that year but lost 3 out of 3 to Ovies and then we lose 1st final coz of a few hotheads. The 2000 side was pretty good but no one was ever gonna get close to Uni.Thats ok.We got em back in 2004.

mate at that point in time i couldnt see them loosing a game, and as of yet they havent! but footy is a funny game with injuries etc, anything can happen! will have to wait and see on saturday! Ovies got a full strength team? no injuries? Modbury should get a few back this week hopefully after the injuries in higher grades! would be good to see both teams at full strength!

There is plenty to be said about these two sides. Both play on different size grounds and play them well. Finals is a different type of footy and as been highlighted in previous posts Ovies have been known to get hot headed to their detriment. Finals are normally played on larger ovals which would suit Modbury. Like most in this forum we'll all know come Saturday night which team has bragging rights at least until finals.

Ovies will have a few out still but as you said so will Modbury,Alot of talk going on about this week but finals is what matters and until GF nothing else matters,im going down to watch so just hope it will be a good fair close game,Id say this will be the GF preview at full strenght couldnt see any other side getting near either of them in c2 unless teams stack there sides which often happens in c grade footy when higher teams look like they wont make it which is a shame but thats footy in c grade comps.

Klompys got 2 young kids now and reckons hes got more important things in life, has won more flags than any one i no so the drive to go on must be getting harder,I think he retired last year but was talked in to going one last year, but told me today if Benno comes back to play and Ovies can field 2 sides next year then he may just play B's to get numbers up

ah benno, we were a totally different side in '04 - and we still had your boots that you donated to the uni 2000 side (which was pretty good). ovingham have always had a problem with a few hotheads, if this year's coach has them settled then good on him regardless of any other result.

and if he played in the magoos next year he'd only kick 20 or 30 cos he'd have to do the hard work and get em himself... not the quality midfield supply as he as this year!!!

I think he does work hard when its down there but has alot of his work cut out by an efficient midfield with the likes of boonga and licka.. As I said, he is a keen crumber and knows where to find the ball..

who's a keen crumber? you must be reffering to cookie aka boonga cos rhino aka licka (only to you maggot) hardly goes into the forward line, and when he does he kicks points anyway!!!!!
