As far as the money situation, i was basically wrapping the club & players, if they arn't getting big $$$ but are their for the right reasons, your halfway there.

So basically what i can take from the answers to my initial question is Modbury need keep developing there young talented squad and they need adjust to the physicality and intensity of div 1 footy.

NM There are a couple of players on very minimal coin and the rest of the team get a small amount per win. I think we have a good base to go into div 1 compared to previous years.

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Na Reeva has hung them up. Been great for the club and over come so many hammy injuries so was great to see him with the medal around his neck.

Modbury will be well looked after next year with a sponsor making a very generous offer to the club

In fairness to the sponsor and to Modbury I won't say much more. What the club chooses to make of the offer is up to them, but they are likely to find it a little easier next year to reward current players and recruit others.

Who the sponsor is isn't important. I'm just saying that the future looks even brighter for Modbury and the wheels are in motion to have a decent crack at Div 1 next year.

No, I'm not affiliated with any sponsorship. The Modbury ties are close within my circle of information.

Well done to Coardy for polling so well in the medal count, big effort coming from a team that promised so much and delivered so little. Great player.

Doesn't surprise me too much, him polling so well (apart from the fact Seaton were thumped on many occasions), as he stands out like dogs balls on a cat in that side. A very good player. Great loyalty by him and his family too.

No, I'm not affiliated with any sponsorship. The Modbury ties are close within my circle of information.

The SAAFL will be pleased - another club they have to "turn a blind eye to" regarding the salary cap. Ha - the salary cap, what a joke!

Let's not go that far, I don't think there'll be mass spending, they just won't be as restricted as this year. Like I said, it's up to the club what they choose to do and I'd like to think they'd reward the current crop of players before anything else. This is not a blanket 'go out and buy ten blokes for next year' offer.

Buying massive amount of players will not happen. yes like you said if extra cash does come our way it will go towards rewarding the young club men who have played at modbury and stayed loyal. I like the sound of what your saying quichey we might have some new footies to train with next year

You'll buy players.. mark my words!! Every club going up to Div 1 does.. A div 2 premiership side wouldnt survive in div 1 if they didnt buy more players..

I didnt say we wouldnt buy players full stop im saying we wont be changing half our team with bought players.... We have to honour the young guys who have stuck with the club from juniors and through seniors. They are good players in there own right and no doubt we will add to the squad but it wont be large amounts maybe 2 or 3.
