I've watched a couple of their games and they would be good in Div 3 but wouldn't smash teams. The SFL is not that strong and their combined team were recently pasted by the GSFL. I seriously doubt that any top SFL would be anywhere near Div 1. 4 of my current players in Div 7 have all been A graders at Happy Valley and if they went back tomorrow still would and they are not exactly tearing Div 7 apart. Happy Valley are on top. Just sayin'.
No EV, no issue with Towns from me, it was a very smart financial decision from the club. I still love the place that I am a proud life member of. My comment was regarding the players who came from Valleys still being capable of making Valley's A grade, not the LIONS who as a team and a club, certainly would not be anywhere near the top 10 or 12 in SFL. Not that we would want to go back anyway.
I'm wondering if you've seen Valley play this year? Not one of the players you refer to would make it back into their A Grade side currently. They are a vastly improved unit, have recruited exceptionally well ie: Petersen-Gray, Joel Brown, Nathan Eagleton, Jon Eagleton. Sounds like the opinion of them making HVFC's A Grade may come from those players who were never good enough to take Valley to the top. Maybe you should go watch a Brighton or Happy Valley game and form your own opinions?

Interesting debate aye. Clubs who have been in SFL and are now in SAAFL have no interest in going back, but clubs in SFL are now talking about coming in to the best comp outside SANFL.![]()

SAAFL accepts Brighton into Division 1. Div 1 becomes a 12 team comp, the top 2 teams from Div 2 still go up ad the SAAFL dont have to slot a club into Div 3 or 4 that could go through undefeated. Being placed in Div 1, we will soon find out if they are good enough. The added plus is that the SAAFL will have another strong club on the south side of the city and other clubs such as Marion and Morphett Park may follow. This could see the formation of North and South divisions in the SAAFL. (just a thought)
This would also mean that Gepps or Sacred Heart would go to Div 2

Maybe get the SFL & HFL Country to combine then there will be 2 basket-case leagues with clubs being thrashed in every corner of the universe because no one has the balls to make a hard call.
United Eagles versus Aldinga, this weeks blockbuster!

If the members of the Brighton Football Club new for certain that they would be placed in division 1, One wonders how the vote would have gone.
