Would that be by the same margin PH was meant to beat us by?

Managed to squeeze in a rare game up at Harpers on the weekend in between coaching responsibilities and thouroughly enjoyed myself. Had a good hit out against Pooraka and they were a good bunch of lads to play against. Our lads really attacked the ball well, ran hard and finished the goals well, possibly even with a fair degree of arse a few times... ;) The Pooraka lads never gave up and played the game in really good spirits which made it good. Well done to all !!

I would expect our C's to only get stronger as numbers return in the higher grades and push some lads back down so I look forward to seeing how that progresses.

Seaton vs SMOSH SMOSH too good here. After taking on FP last week Seaton may get a look in but it will be for only 5 minuets.
Flinders Park vs Para Hills As above not going to be a fun day for PH. Just like its been for the rest of us (except SMOSH)
Portland vs Mitcham Going to be a cracker. Besides the top 2 and the way they are travelling. This will be a great game and one where the side prepared to take risks and be first to the footy will get over the top. I would like to think we can come away with it. Good rivalry between our clubs. Time will tell
CBCOC vs Pooraka If CBC can fill a side that is then there will be a game. CBC to stay where they are like their higher grades. Heard good things about Pooraka. If CBC do, Pooraka will be the 3rd side we will come up against that have had a weekend off the round before!
Pembroke vs Golden Grove To get over the top. Unless POS get their B graders back like they did last week GG by handful.

Saturday's game was exactly how i thought it would play out although i thought we would come home with the win. Was tight all day and game was played in hreat spirits by both sides. I thought the umpiring was not flash for both sides. On a lot of occasions the player over the ball was never protected or rewarded for his efforts. Holding the ball call was rarely given when both sides should have been rewarded. We got within a kick when our descision making and in one major instance undiscipline when one of my guys wasnt given his dues with a free let us down. As far as Im conerned we did actually loose the game. Credit to Mitcham though they use the ground well and were prepaired to run the whole game out. The run off half back and the players constantly out wide waiting for the easy give was telling. That wont be the case on the return bout. To come up against a side that in recent years have belted us by a minnmum of 15 goals plus to go down by 4 is an indication on where we are at as a side now and moving forward. To still sit 4th and loose by a short margin when some on here said we would get smashed is ok at this stage. Over the next 4 weeks including the break will really tell where we are at as a side. Next week especially will give us the final indication. Looking forward to heading up to Pooraka for the triple header. Wonder of their new recruit will even get a game or will he stop shooting his mouth off?

your spot on satchel with the umpiring it was very bad from both sides, the problem was that they where sitting behind the play and couldn't see what was actually going on. I thought Mitcham actually played very bad, there ball skills where not up to the standard they usually have they usually have silky smooth skills. I think the conditions that the game was played in and them having the week off didn't help one bit. your side has improved a hell of a lot compared to the last couple of years with your skills being a lot better and ball movement as well.

Pretty much mate. we have improved a hell of a lot since last year. We have only really injected about 4-5 players over last years side. We have a minnimum of 5-6 players miss out each week which is great for our depth but harsh for me to make some of the calls to say your not playing. One of the main things/positional places we needed on Saturday was one possibly two midfielders. We had guys pull out due to work commitments which really hurt us. We did not capitalise on their mistakes pure and simple but we will work on that this week. we wont take Pooraka lightly this week. Looking at the sides so far (apart from Pooraka this week) i feel the 5 has been sorted already. with the second part of the season pretty much here. If we can snag 2 wins over the next 3 games (a the start of the 2nd half of the season which will be difficult seeing who we are up against) we should be fine. PH, Seaton and GG are our biggest threats so far Smosh and FP are so far ahead its rediculous but not unbeatable by any stretch. They just need to be asleep at the time ;) A 3 point win over Seaton and the good wins over PH and GG shows where we are at. We should have beaten Seaton by more but thats been and gone now. Mitcham are still a great side but cant help but say i that i hate their oval.

Played them a few weeks ago, not a bad side, have got some forwards that look like they could kick a few on a good day, midfielders ok but I thought their achilles heal was their defence who seemed a bit loose and probably struggled a little. But the young lad with the blond dreddies up forward led well and they left alot of space for him and Didak to work in and they delivered the ball quite well to them too. I thought they were ok, and a pretty decent bunch of blokes too.

Hi all. looks like im the only Pooraka member here, so go easy ;) .
who is new recruit you speak of?? really looking forward to the match on the weekend, will be a good chance to see how far we have come since round 1 (a long way I beleive). we are starting to gel together as a team quite well now after having a fairly inexperianced team in rd 1.

Anyway see you on Saturday and may the best team win :)

No one of any importance really. Lets just say that this person never played B or A grade as has been made aware to people up there. Any way, i agree it will be a good game. Last time we played Pooraka it was rather close and all grades for the Bulls have shown some good form so far this year. The surprise is the A grade as they have taken to the jump up in Divs better than GG (at this stage). Time will tell after this week with all teams where they are at with the break and 2nd half the season.

CBC v GG GG too goof here. Its not going to be a good day up at Park 15
POS V Mitcham I expect Mitcham to be better than last week. Wet weather but should walk away with it
Seaton V PH PH starting to go better. Close one
FP V Smosh This will be a cracker game. Would like to watch this one actually. With the run and drive FP have amongst many other positive traits. I feel Smosh with its timber up foprward and depth i think they will take home the choc's on this one. Not by much. It could go either way really. under 6 points.
Portland V Pooraka - This will be a test to be honest. We have had a lot of injuires in our side this week. Mainly because of last week. It seems to only have occured in our C grade for some reason. Work commitments and illness has taken its toll. I expect it to be an in and under match which will suit Pooraka. Crappy weatheris expected so i guess we will have to wait and see.

CBC vs GG big game for goldies this week a win could see them 2 games clear in 5 spot and could set them up for the rest of the season
Pem vs Mitcham Mitcham far too good for Pembroke expect them to bounce back after last weeks effort
Seaton vs Para Hills Biggest game of the year for Seaton lose this one and there 2 games out of the 5 and could find it hard to make that 5 come the second half of the season
FP vs Smosh will be a very close game but can't see smosh stopping cookfar too good for this league
Portland vs Pooraka As satchel said they have a few injuries this but even with a few injuries they should be a far better side then Pooraka

roughie for the week CBC to finally break the drought and get a win over GG

CBC v GG As predicted things just seem to get worse for CBC
POS V Mitcham I said walk away but htey obvioulsy ran away with it.
Seaton V PH Nice turn aorund for PH. Good to see them get up.
FP V Smosh FP just keep on keeping on. I said it would be under a kick be good to hear some comments on the game.

Portland V Pooraka: My lads started off really well to be 5 goasl up at the first break. Second quarter we kept the foot down to be up by nearly 9 goals at the main break. Our third quarter let us down. Pooraka came out with a bit more intent than we did which was disappointing. More of a tighter contest with 5-7 mins to go in the third. To Pooraka's credit they kept on the pressure and we really should have won by a lot more than we did. Not the complete outcome we were looking for but a nice way to finish the first part of the season. As i put it earlier Rounds 10-13 will be the toughest we will face. Smosh, CBC, FP, then PH. Too maybe steal 3 out of those 4 would be a dream start. We have the cattle its just how far they are prepaired to go. Apart from the top 2 Mitcham will be our biggest threat. Definately beatable form our perspective so we will be looking at that later on.

Flinders Park 18 84.1% Will stay here.
SMOSH West Lakes 16 77.9% As above untill the last game of the year to fight for Minor Premiership
Mitcham 14 56.5% Hit better form last week
Portland 12 49% Best position our club in C grade has ever been. Nopt geeting carried away though. Only judge will be if we play finals or not. Then i might keep my job.
Golden Grove 10 53.8% After a small lapse they have stepped back to where they were earlier on
Seaton Ramblers 6 43.9% Starting to slip i feel. Not being as competitive as i know they can be
Pembroke OS 6 42.7% Again as ive said FP have taken to Div 3 better and look better at taking advantage. POS to stay in Div 3
Pooraka 4 34.1% No real change from when we played them last. Some of their players have dropped form the higher grades as like all clubs but not really taking it up to Div 3 like GG have finally started to
Para Hills 4 32.7% With another win on the board i cant see them staying in the bottom 2. I expect them to leep over Pooraka and POS. Might get a run home but doubt it seeing where the other sides are
CBCOC 0 18.9% Cant say anything else other than enjoy Div 4. Its a shame because they are a good club it just looks like they are in a lull that they cant get out of. If tehy do drop they should bounce back. Bit early to call that, Maybe? But you cant say anything else though!

I think depth is starting to catch up with them as seen with the B grade being flogged by Para Hills.

Quite disappointing to be honest. We lost our CHF and all our entire midfield including both rucks before the game. Having said that you are only as good as the 22 on the day and we didn't play the game as well as we had hoped. I thought you guys played it pretty smart and disciplined in regards to your setting up of the zone defense among other things. A far cry from last time I played Portland and it was just a crash and bash affair, I slept well after playing on the ball most of the day though haha. Looking forward to squaring up against seaton after the break as I think we are a real chance to knock them off if we get our cattle back on the park.

Smosh vs Portland think this will be a close game withing 5 goals be good for portland to see if they are going to be close to the top2
Pembroke vs CBC it's a hard one to pick after pembroke got a belting from mitcham are they just slipping even more or have mitcham just improved more think weeks round well tell us the answer
pooraka vs Seaton Seaton have also been on the down but expect them to bounce back this week
Golden Grove vs Para Hills looks like they have improved since they got rolled by Mitcham maybe it was the kick they needed. Big game could go 3 games clear in 5 spot this week.
Flinders Park vs Mitcham pretty much the same as SMOSH and Portland game be close and good to see where they are.
