phillips, mardling and robertson were all dropped for last weeks game against south and would have played for SN last week if there was a game. Mardling is most certaintly leaning towards leaving port for the rest of the year as for the rest im not sure what they are doing but are really concidering throwing in the towell, i know lots of blokes are unhappy with some selection choices so sounds liek banford and mead are really ruffling some feathers
Salisbury North have recruited pretty well this season and now have alot of ex Port Magpies boys playing out there.
With guys like Phillips, Robertson, Marding, Clinton, Stoyanoff, Frost and Walker joining Hay, Jordan, Haseldine, Rotolo, Sajewicz and probably a few more that i've forgot to mention, the $alisbury North FC could become the Port Magpies amateur league affiliate side?
But on the flip side, when you bring a host of new players to a club, there will always be guys that get dropped to the reserves side to make way who will be unhappy and probably end up somewhere else.
I've heard that a host of players within the club are unhappy with some of Tylors selections so far this year, with players being selected despite their poor form and guys like Ross, Mortimer and Moon all currently playing reserves despite having played for the STATE team in recent years.
However at 7-2, im sure the club would be happy with where they sit at the halfway mark.
But the impression i get is that its only a matter of time before the riff between players and coach becomes a hinderance for Salisbury North this season.
Why should Tylor have to bow to any of these guys who have played STATE as you put it.
FFS for once and for all, it is not STATE Football it is the Under 23 team and many of those guys struggle to play at Divsion 1 level. I have a feeling the Mark Tylor would know more about Football and who is good enough to play in his team than the players who for too long have ruled the roost at Salisbury North amongst other clubs.
Too many players think they are much better than they really are in all grades especially when they get an Under 23 Jumper to their names.
Have definately had that problem at our club over the past few years, "I'm a state player" mentalitly, when to be honest, they wouldn't even get a look in at Open Age Level.
Thanks for that Shirtfront. Thought it was just what I had seen of these guys who have achieved the ultimate in a "State Under 23" Jumper. In honesty it means not a thing other than you are in the best 200 or 300 players in either Division 1, 2, 3 and possibly even in the lower Grades.
They come back to the Club after "earning" one of the so called STATE jumpers and I used the words carefully there as they ARE NOT STATE JUMPERS and think they are a walk up start every week. In reality there are some much better players in Division 3,4,5,6 and 7
Gives a reason for someone to go away and join in the fun and have a free trip on behalf of the Clubs really. IMO. Bring back the Open Age State sides and just get rid of these junkets for some of the merry men at the bunker to get a trip
