yes all left Port. Talking with someone from Salisbury North this week and they said that they have 3 or 4 coming from Port but would not tell me who, now we all know. Good on them. Free market at the market and everyone is trying to get the last few players before June 30th as every other Club is. Salisbury North would not be alone in trying to get signatures over the next 2 weeks. might find a few others also on the move to other Clubs as well as not many happy campers there at the moment and Clubs are lining up ready. A few other League Clubs are being attacked as well don't worry

i dont think all 3 have left port completely top end, from my mail 1 has left for good and the other 2 are still tossing up what they are going to do, i wouldnt be surprised if 1 sticks it out and 2 play the remainder of the year for SN

A lot of people tipping PNU for their first win this weekend. This may be on the back of the signing and possible debut of a young keen as mustard fella named Jeffrey

I think we've found our new head of recruitment at PNU. Great pick up by yourself wristwatcher. How did this one manage to fly under the radar of so many other clubs?

Any truth to the rumour that No Mercy has offered Jeffrey $500 a game to play at Seaton?

phillips, mardling and robertson were all dropped for last weeks game against south and would have played for SN last week if there was a game. Mardling is most certaintly leaning towards leaving port for the rest of the year as for the rest im not sure what they are doing but are really concidering throwing in the towell, i know lots of blokes are unhappy with some selection choices so sounds liek banford and mead are really ruffling some feathers

How does everyone think Henley will go without Kenny and a few other that are out due to the world cup.
I would think they may struggle with out there main man up forward

Think you will find Kenny plus Berry and both Pastyns and a few others all in South Africa, Plus word on the street is that Ryan Kelly out for a while with a serious injury. But will wait and see. Mail usually OK though.

Salisbury North have recruited pretty well this season and now have alot of ex Port Magpies boys playing out there.
With guys like Phillips, Robertson, Marding, Clinton, Stoyanoff, Frost and Walker joining Hay, Jordan, Haseldine, Rotolo, Sajewicz and probably a few more that i've forgot to mention, the $alisbury North FC could become the Port Magpies amateur league affiliate side?
But on the flip side, when you bring a host of new players to a club, there will always be guys that get dropped to the reserves side to make way who will be unhappy and probably end up somewhere else.
I've heard that a host of players within the club are unhappy with some of Tylors selections so far this year, with players being selected despite their poor form and guys like Ross, Mortimer and Moon all currently playing reserves despite having played for the STATE team in recent years.
However at 7-2, im sure the club would be happy with where they sit at the halfway mark.
But the impression i get is that its only a matter of time before the riff between players and coach becomes a hinderance for Salisbury North this season.

SHOCs also have a fair few of their experienced players out as well. Yeomans, Bayford, Flatman, Floreani, Horan. Hopefully it will be a close game but very big test for SHOCs.

Add Ryan Kelly to those outs with a broken jaw.
If SHOCS have the outs they say they have it should be a close game but i'm tipping a defeat for Henley this week & a couple more to come before the saviours are back from World Cup Duties!

Why should Tylor have to bow to any of these guys who have played STATE as you put it. FFS for once and for all, it is not STATE Football it is the Under 23 team and many of those guys struggle to play at Divsion 1 level. I have a feeling the Mark Tylor would know more about Football and who is good enough to play in his team than the players who for too long have ruled the roost at Salisbury North amongst other clubs. Too many players think they are much better than they really are in all grades especially when they get an Under 23 Jumper to their names.

=D> =D> Have definately had that problem at our club over the past few years, "I'm a state player" mentalitly, when to be honest, they wouldn't even get a look in at Open Age Level.

Thanks for that Shirtfront. Thought it was just what I had seen of these guys who have achieved the ultimate in a "State Under 23" Jumper. In honesty it means not a thing other than you are in the best 200 or 300 players in either Division 1, 2, 3 and possibly even in the lower Grades.
They come back to the Club after "earning" one of the so called STATE jumpers and I used the words carefully there as they ARE NOT STATE JUMPERS and think they are a walk up start every week. In reality there are some much better players in Division 3,4,5,6 and 7
Gives a reason for someone to go away and join in the fun and have a free trip on behalf of the Clubs really. IMO. Bring back the Open Age State sides and just get rid of these junkets for some of the merry men at the bunker to get a trip

Kenny, Berry, and one pastyn (Luke) only. No others. Kenny will be missed but have players who can play a similiar role (Cullen, Redden and Biar). Berry will be sorely missed, as will Pederson. Midfield has enough good runners to cover pastyn. R. Kelly out for a long time with a broken jaw. Couple of others coming back into the side from injury. With Shoc's having a few out, should be a cracker game.

Ah yes, I could point you to a couple and one former who really believe they are a "special breed". They reckon it gives them a licence to do as they please.

Catering at a premuim at Goodwood today. Ran out of pies or pasties early in the second quarter of the A Grade game.

Couple of members of the club fired up the council BBQ in memory of Greg Parker and good feed it was.

Didn't play well gave them some easy goals as we got sucked into the small oval.

Not a gripe at umpires but one of them is not D1 standard. Not Fit could not run out the game.

Time to put it behind us and get ready for Salisbury North at home next week.

A new Gepps Cross team turned up at Salisbury North today. Not new in personnel, but in attitude, desire, approach and teamwork, something that has only been seen in small glimpses in the first half of the season. Salisbury North were "shell shocked" and over run by the Rams in ordinary conditions. After a 4 goal first quarter, it took until the 10 min mark of the last quarter for Sal. North to score another goal, Gepps were much more fluent and played smart, team footy to run out winners 14.5 to 7.8
The Rams boys showed their best is very good, it wouldn't have mattered how many new Port recruits the opposition put on the park, today was never going to be about anything but for Gepps Cross Football Club.
