If a bloke plays terrible and doesnt get a kick he wont wake up sunday morning to his name listed in the best players.

Early on in the season it pays to put false best players in the paper, keep your trump cards close to your chest.

Meh.

Or you could publicly recognise and reward the guys who are working hardest at your club and consequently playing the best footy? I Don't buy into the cat and mouse rubbish like that. Its rubbish at this sort of level, and risks alienating people doing their best work.

I totally agree with you there turbo, It happens a bit unfortunately. I have been to games where so and so has been best afield by a mile and check the paper only to see 5 other blokes in the best players ahead of him. Most clubs know who to target from opposition teams anyway, its a sign of respect from the opposition to that certain player saying he must be stopped in order for their club to win. Yet the club doesnt pay them the respect by acknowledging his performance by putting him in the best players in the paper.

I'd take more pride in getting called up in the club on a Saturday night after a good game.

The saafl is cracking down on clubs that do put fake best players in the paper. Not sure how they are going to do that though. It would be hard to watch every game in the league and know every player that plays.

That impact player may be replaced by a tripod....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

He's been training well so will need to see how things shape up. Can neither confirm or deny at this stage mate.

Heard he trained very well Last Night in the wet and drzzle and took some good marks. Heard his kicking was still really good as well. Hard to get somebody to stand someone that big and strong in the goal square, if he plays as expected.

Unless he plans on playing out the whole year I think it's just a self agenda based cameo, without doubt egged on by others around the club.

They reckon Mick Fenney and Joey Muscara will line up for Seaton and Scotty Hodges for Portland. Would not be reading too much into the Team Sheets on the website. Bit of bluff they are all saying. Fenney back from the South East at Millicent and did not like the travel much, so decided to come back to Seaton. which is a good pick up for them. Could be an entertaining game to watch. ;)

Jumping on the "GRAVY TRAIN" i reckon, the blokes didn't want a bar of Seaton but what a difference it makes when your sitting top. InTheChair didn't want them at the club now he's opened up his arms & taken back all the bad things he & others down there have said about them.
I've met some hipocrits in my time!!
It may well come back to bite them all on the ar$e.
