I was out at Fitzroy v Golden Grove and saw a good game of footy. Well done to Golden Grove on their win. They are a young side with lots of good runners who are very hard to keep up with. I think a few of the older Roys players were run off their feet. They have some real quality. Fitzroy missed Benny Hart up front today despite Mitch's 7 or 8 goals.

To the very officious Fitzroy Team Manager, your 'lecturing' of myself and a Golden Grove spectator about abuse of Fitzroy players was laughable. He was just a keen dad watching his son play and he was just engaging in nothing more than some friendly banter. To threaten to remove him from the ground was just ridiculous. As for me......well i have some mates that play for Fitzroy and am not into abusing my mates. I was just nearby minding my own business........ so some friendly advice champ....... get your facts straight before you start hav'n a crack at people.

All in all though.....a great day out. :D

Good win to Choccies boys. Mitch lead Fitzroy from the front with a bag, while Burgess was solid up forward.

The Pooraka Bulls were too good for us yesterday we led most of the day but the margin was never much more than a couple of goals.

The Bulls last quater was excellent, running over the top of us with ease.

Thanks to the Pooraka people who came back in for a beer after the game.

Some results this weekend make for some great games next weekend.

Great win by WOS yesterday. Played a good brand of footy for 4 quarters. Massive game against Greenies, hopefully get some key players back for this challenge

Great win by the Burras out at Mount Fitzroy. A well deserved result for the young lads who ran hard and fought well despite some early injuries to key bigger players that unsettled our set up a bit. Such an interesting game to watch from the sidelines, some great run from us, some baffling decisions both ways from the umps who didn't appear to reward the tacklers and a spirited showing from the Roys whose older guys kept them in the game. Pearce, Sok, Mitchell and Burgess gave us trouble all day but I think the difference in the end was Fitzroy's bigger bodies inability to run out the game. Plenty of big lads out there !! But a very important win for us and we were very happy to leave the Mound with 2 wins for the day... :D

Would love to tell you mate but at the moment we are not sure. I think the lose of Mcneil has really hurt us as now we dont have very many options going into the forward 50. I think they are going to cope a flogging at training. This form is no where near acceptable.

I think that this year is going to see a lot of unexpected results

Any team not on its game on a given Saturday is a real chance of loosing even to teams down the ladder. Home ground are not showing to be a huge factor either.

I dont think there should be anyone going into any game thinking they have it won.

A very even comp which shows the system is working...so if it aint broke dont mess with it

And yes One Eyed a very big game this week..... one dragon will get slain... hope it aint us Dragons

Good to see nothings changed at Salisbury west.

Are the infamous brothers still playing out there? I recall kicking the first two goals of a game out there, and the solution was i got hit in the back of the head at the bounce.

I know alot of the lads persoannaly, they are not a bad bunch of kids, however it is funny whoever seems to pull on the Black, Yellow and Blue seem to get a Heeman like agressive streak and you would sware there motivational boards in the changerooms would read "Punch when they don't expect it" "Be smart when playing the man, like when the umpire has his back turned" "Think about your options, Punch, Run, Kick" No no, in all seriosuness, is it just the culture?

Another very interesting round , picking a winner will be hard.

Salisbury West v Woodies. OK this is it Cats you gotta win this or start looking at Div 5 sides as they will be your opponents for 2011. So Cats by a few goals
Unley v Salisbury. Unley a bit big and strong. Salisbury have to stop Skobes if any chance. Unley 5 goals
Golden Grove v Pultney. GG the best team we have played so far but I think Pultney will match up well with them Sarge the key. GG at home by 4 goals
Pooraka v Fitzroy. Cracking game will once again be high scoring no doubt I hear Pooraka have a heap of matchwinners but can be a little hot and cold. Hot this week should win 5 goals

WOS v Greenacres. We were really good on the weekend but coming up against the ladder leader will be very very tough, compounded but illness, injury and unavailability it makes it that little bit harder home ground should help so its Dragons for me. just.
