these are my odds

J.Meers @2/1
A. Stead @4/1
R. Smith @7/1
S. Carter @8/1
M. Ashley @10/1
T.Cocking @ 20/1

Not sure Meersy would knock back his role at West for thecoaching gig at Districts. Steedy is my tip.

Meers wil get it. Why would he want to stay as an under age assistant coach in a junior programme when its a big step up to division 1 from there. if he was the ressies coach or higher it might be worth it but not assistant in a junior programme. surely districts are a better gig

Has Meers come out and said he wants the job?

can tell you it def wouldn't be steady. he's come to two wells with christofis and nurton

TTG have lost a heap of players, so its def not Shannon's fault IMO and from what i know he is well respected and liked by the playing group. A few injuries may not have helped either.

They also lost Culpitt, Holm, Bennett and few else who i cant think of atm.

But considerable money was given to the Senior club for players, yet i think they didnt managed the money well and may have spent the max $$ on one year. Where are these players now?

TTG made the best possible appointment as coach. Try losing Culpitt, Brunoli, Holm, Noske (has done knee again at Meningie), Pollock, Bennett and having the current run of injuries they have had and anyone will struggle to win a game. They spent big last year, however wthin their budget and came up short. They are not in big league of spenders but spend what they can afford to ensure their achievements are sustainable. Weaver ended up in position at end of last year where he had no option other than to move. Remember this club has 25 junior football teams, the vast majority, including Pitt and
Wicks are ex juniors, if the points system arrives, their team does not change. Survival is key this year.

Interesting.

I was talking to a guy I work with on Tuesday who plays B grade at Districts and he said that the feeling amongst the players and club about the coaching situation and there current form is in his words, sh!t. I asked him who he thinks is going to get the A coaching job and he said he wasn't sure. I asked him if he thinks if Richard Foster would get and he said he doesn't want him to because according to him Foster isn't a good coach and he said he and some other players would leave Districts at the end of the year if Foster got the job and that he would play out the rest of the current season and then way his options up at the end of the year for the 2011 season.

Posted this on Monday Dark Knight so I would suggest that your B Grade mates start planning their next move as Foster has the job. Who runs the show at Port Districts anyway. Is it the players or who? The Players had a fair bit to say about Ricky Pearce and now about Foster as well. Anyone who we could please them with or perhaps they could coach themselves as they seemingly have a lot to say about their Coaches. Might be time that your B Grade mate pisses off anyway by the sounds as the Coach at Districts cant seem to get a win, whether that be Pearce or Foster

We will be alright. Some quality players are starting to filter back into the team now so hopefully the results will pick up in the second half of the season. There is no way you can blame goose on the results thus far as like a few people have stated, there has been a lot of players turned over from last year and they were all quality footballers. It has been great to see a lot of youth get A grade games this season which has been a huge positive for the club.

Was quite impressed with Gullies on Saturday. With a bit of luck they could have won. Not doing much wrong. With players returning from injury they will trouble sides and upset some along the way. Could be hard to make finals from here but will play spoiler and decide who does.
With a couple of wins over top sides in the second round or close losses hurting other teams % will set them selves up for next season. Well run club with some smart people out there.

I heard 3 weeks. That is shameful from what I saw. Cop it on the chin and move on, but very disappointed to put it mildly.

That makes it 6 players out for the next 5 weeks.
I'd be backing Henley to lose 3-4 of the next 5.

A Brooker's guy told me they now refer to him as "Mud" Cox.
That's because his clearance turned up in the post even though he'd been training with them and said nought about leaving so his name is now "mud" at Kersbrook.
Above was posted March 3

I note on the HFL thread, NM has asked the yearly question for the first time and it just happens to be in mid June.
Has Marc Cox been cleared to Kersbrook???????
I guess he's still got time to be cleared to them and then move on perhaps to Encounter Bay before June 30 given past form.

As MOST of the Exec in the past have shown they will only do as they are told by the illustrious one and are piss weak when challenged. Things may be a changing though ;) could be some very interesting times ahead in the months ahead

I choked reading the local messenger thursday, an article on the Ricky Pearce exit.
That Port Districts Football Club is full of two faced backstabbing board members & players.
Why don't they just print the truth not bullsh!t, give Ricky his chance to set it straight with everyone regarding how he was asked to resign or be sacked not a " Pearce was reluctant to respond" BULLSH!T

Salis Nth v Gepps Cross - should be a close game this one, Gepps need the win but........
SHOC v Henley - A few Sharks missing incl big Kenny is the only reason why SHOC should win.
Goodwood v Broadview - Another good & close game predicted.
Payenham v TTGully - big chance for them to open their account in the wet.
Gaza v Port Dist - Districts should of won this game last time they met having much more of the ball & scoring shots, this time though will prove the wrong decision was made getting rid of Ricky Pearce.
