All i can say about the Mawson lakes V Mitchell Park trial is, i haven't really seen many other clubs take pictures of the score board after the game with various people standing in front of it?

Hate that frigging comment about every trial.

Obviously Lakes depth is a little depleted, but thats okay! Why do they have their "guns" outs so close to the season? surely you'd wanna see the best 21 have a run.
Mitchell Park .... well done lads, a win is a win is a win.

Woody Sth would not be getting to ahead of themselves because with the mass exedus from Para Hills an U/16 would have given em a run for their money!

Trinity are a good young side who play a competitive style of footy, but were beaten by a side who played finals in a Div above no matter who trinity had missing.

I think when ya loose a trial that last thing you should say is "yeah but we had a few out" that excuse for me is garbage.

You take it as good learning and maybe an ego and reality check.

Mate we're not making excuses (far from it in fact) for yesterdays game it's a trial game for goodness sake. We used it as an opportunity to try some different things & expose some different players to A grade footy. Why we may have had various players missing is up to us. Mitchell Park are a quality outfit who are on the up and they probably would have beaten us no matter who we had playing, they deserve all the credit they played fantastic.

:D

sides can expect to have 3-5 players out every week during the year..so the defensive argument of "who is out" isnt one.. because its most likely that will be the case during the year..you can only beat who you play..with what they put out there on the park..for example we will have 4 x A graders out in the first round..1 to a wedding, 1 is overseas, 1 is interstate and 1 has to work..

in one of the strange quirks of amateur football, players are only ALL available for selection with no injuries/work/holidays etc during the finals :)

I would tip Para hills to be in division 5 in 2013.

After losing to Woodville South in our trial game on the weekend, we have decided to write this year off and start planning for our clash against Woodville South for 2013. Woodville South will win the flag and go up and we will get relegated and come down..

I hope so cause that is what I tipped in the tipping comp

I'm a little confused. CU played a very classy outfit in SW who are couple divs higher and were missing plenty - always were going to struggle..
Mawson Lakes still won their trial game how is that disappointing?! :?

You know what i'm getting sick of.. the whole "fly under the radar" thing, pushing the focus/attention/interest towards another club and talking down chances.

As far as i'm concerned, it's Div 6 - every club has the same goals - win games, play finals and hopefully win the flag and ultimately get promoted out of the division.

To blokes like Riddler and Carey, what do you hope to accomplish by talking down your sides or pushing the hype on the other? Is it incase you don't live up to the expectation? Is it to avoid "extra pressure"?

At the end of the day, if you under perform and struggle - no matter how well you fly under the radar - you and your side will get scrutinised.

I just wish for once someone would come out and say "Yep the rumours are true, we've recruited heavily and had a strong pre-season, feeling very confident, good feeling around the club - we'll settle for no less than a grand final"..

Double-fist? Was just the beginning of a woeful performance by me. Might have to start R1 in the Ressies to find some form.
